Masqueraider Mystique

This warrior has a different face for every occasion! He draws his power from the masks he wears, and can thus change his fighting style whenever he likes. Whether he's hitting you from far off, keeping you in close combat or just doing you a whole load of damage, the Masqueraider is full of surprises... and more often than not, it's his enemies who pay the price.

 Profile

Speciality: Versatile Warrior

Preferred weapons: Staff (100% damage) and Axe (95% damage)

Basic characteristics:

  • 50 Health Points (HP)
  • 6 Action Points (AP)
  • 3 Movement Points (MP)
  • 0 Initiative Points
  • 100 Prospecting Points

Every time you level up thanks to XP gained in combat, you'll receive 5 points which you can use to improve your Characteristics, as well as 1 point for improving spells. You should spend these points carefully and establish a direction in which you want your character to evolve.
In the table below you'll see how much it costs to improve each Characteristic. The more you invest in any one Characteristic, the more points you'll have to spend to continue improving it.

For Masqueraiders, for example, each STRENGTH point will only cost one capital point until you have accumulated 99. Thereafter, you'll have to spend 2 capital points to improve this Characteristic.

VITALITY will always cost one point and WISDOM will always cost three.

Cost in points for each
characteristic
1 for 1 2 for 1 3 for 1 4 for 1 5 for 1
Intelligence de 0 to 99 de 100 to 199 de 200 to 299 de 300 to 399 400+

Agility de 0 to 99 de 100 to 199 de 200 to 299 de 300 to 399 400+
Strength de 0 to 99 de 100 to 199 de 200 to 299 de 300 to 399 400+

The Masqueraider doesn't really have any one primary Characteristic. INTELLIGENCE, CHANCE, AGILITY and STRENGTH all cost the same number of capital points. That means it's up to you to decide which style of play suits you best.

 Masqueraiders in general

The Masqueraider has several modes to choose from, depending on which mask he puts on. To make the most of this versatility, you'll need to work on all of the mask types:

The Cowardly Mask, the Classic Mask and the Psychopath Mask

The Cowardly Mask allows you to keep some distance between you and your enemies, whilst still doing them some damage, whilst the Psychopath Mask is for close combat, allowing you to inflict more serious damage. The Classic Mask is more centred on locking and enables you to keep your enemies in place.

Masqueraiders also have some effective spells for helping allies, so save some spell points for:

Plastron, Tortoruga and Trance

When it comes to choosing your element of attack, it's up to you. You have a variety of spells to choose from, so try them out and see which element suits you best. All the same, there are two attack spells whose benefits you can't possibly overlook: Reinforcement, which enables you to move away from the target at the same time as doing him damage in 3 elements; and Furia, which brings you closer to the target and increases your damage!
So, choose a Masqueraider and the world is your oyster. All you have to do is pick a playing style, and get to work!
