 Handyman

If you were born fiddling with your umbilical cord and dismantling your milk bottle for spare parts, it either means your destiny is to be a handyman or... something else. Believe us, you better hope you become a handyman.

Handymen mainly create items for Dragoturkey paddocks (drinking troughs, mangers, patters, slappers, dragobutts and lightning throwers) as well as dungeon keys. Handymen are very important in the World of Twelve, especially for guilds for which having a high-level handyman is a big advantage.

All the same, this profession won't make a millionaire out of you, even if you become a Master-Handyman. If you want to reduce your production costs and increase your income, you should make friends with a lumberjack as soon as you can, because wood is what you'll need most.

Are you fascinated by those mysterious shadowy folk who travel the World of Twelve fixing and crafting various items before and promptly disappearing again? Well if you want to join them, you'll have to go to one of the official Handyman workshops. In Bonta, go see the charming Liroye Merline (-27,-59) or if you're closer to Brakmar, you can talk to her sister, Fidji Merline at (-28,35). Wherever you decide to go (depending on your alignment, of course), you should think about offering a gift to whoever teaches you the profession (20 planks of Ash Wood and 15 planks of Maple).

Then you'll need to get your hands on a Handyman Hammer to get your little business started. It can be very helpful to know a hammer smith, not to mention good for your pocket. You won't need many materials for the hammer (5 Bamboo and 5 Dolomite Minerals) and the craftsman doesn't need a very high level. Otherwise, you can pay for one at a smith Marketplace - but whatever you choose, you can't do a thing without one.

That's it! You got the tools, you've got the know-how, nothing remains but to get down to business!

It's time for you to make your first item, so put down your weapon and equip your handyman's hammer, selecting the action ''Do it yourself'' or ''Make a Key''. Then drag the ingredients into the slots available, bearing in mind the quantities you see in your recipe window.

You'll be using all kind of wooden planks in the majority of your recipes and you can buy all these materials in the Marketplaces of the World of Twelve, in particular the ones that serve miners and lumberjacks.

When you start practicing your profession, you'll only be able to use simple recipes, and only ones with 2 resources (i.e. 2 slots). Once you get a little experience under your belt, you can move on to more complex recipes with more ingredients and more slots. The list below tells you the different grades of recipe along with the level you require to be able to use them:

  • 2 slots (level 1+)

  • 3 slots (level 10+)

  • 4 slots (level 20+)

  • 5 slots (level 40+)

  • 6 slots (level 60+)

  • 7 slots (level 80+)

  • 8 slots (level 100+)

Like with the craft professions, the more complex a recipe is the more experience you'll gain if you manage to do it. But the lower your level is, the less likely you will be to succeed in using it... bear in mind that no recipe is a guaranteed success.
