Vulkania: Grab your flip-flops and your pith helmet!
With the summer season comes the urge to have a picnic and take long walks... through the deepest darkest jungle! Luckily, Vulkania is back, just in time for summer! Grozilla and Grasmera will be your guides on a cheery group tour... of hurting!

What, you thought that a vacation should be safe? Pft! You never value your life more than the moment after you almost lose it! And you'll never appreciate how precious your existance is more keenly once you've survived the explosive safari that Charlie's Agents are offering on the Island of Vulkania! Located south of Otomai Island, this exception archipelago has a flamboyant atmosphere like no other.

Activities include: Decending into exstinct volcanos, trekking through tropical jungles, expeditions in crystaline caverns, and hunting Sauroshells solo or with friends!

This year, the island offers up a grand buffet of surprises:

* The gruesome twosome, Grozilla and Grasmera, have four levels of strength. Weaker adventurers can now stand up to them, but beware... The monsters’ strongest states will pose an even bigger challenge than last year!

* When defeated in their two weaker states, Grozilla and Grasmera will drop tokens that can be exchanged for a new pet: the Krolimea. Moreover, players that defeat the island bosses for the first time will obtain the Vulkanian Salute emote.

* New! A competition between Vulkorog and Otomaisle has commenced! Players will win points for their team by completing quests that can be repeated again and again. Each week, the winning team will see a special shop open on their island for 7 days. But that’s not all...! The winning team will also have access to Maimane Rock, where players will have the opportunity to obtain two new emotes, one per team!

I did the venerable shplinter quest with 4 alts, which makes 160 hearts in total...also contributed about 160 of the smallest two, since these are quickest to hunt but unless something happens at the next update this will be nowhere near what we need. I read a flicker of hope in Izmar's reply though!

Thursday night, I spent a while with my team hunting the high level Raw Shells for Shika, and was very proud to submit 120 shells for my hard work, taking us from about 250 to 370. Last night I logged on to see the progess our server had made... we were around 500ish... ouch! I was kind of bummed about this (all 3 lower levels were still less than 200 each), and kind of lost hope of getting our server unlocked. Saturday & Sundays are Shika's busy days, and we gain hardly any shells... at this rate we'll be lucky to have it unlocked before the island is closed back down...lol.

Anyway, I do hope that something will be adjusted to the current 4,000 shell requirement.

Hey Benj, it's good that you gave a helping hand to Shika, but I suggest you stop because it's not worth the hard work. A week or something ago I started farming them, not actually farming because I never found a decent mob. I later went to that NPC underground, looked at the low numbers we had, left and never went again lol. I advise people to calm down on this as small servers are hardly ever going to obtain 16k hearts in two months.

Ankama should really start considering the difference of population in every server/community before they make an event.

Here is a hint... Scale the difficulty/rewards in proportion to server population.

French servers
1000 kolostoken = 1 spell scroll
raw sauroshell = 4000

Rushu
750 kolostoken = 1 spell scroll
raw sausoshell = 3000

Rosal/Solar
500 kolostoken = 1 spell scroll
raw sausoshell = 2000

Zato/Shika
300 kolostoken = 1 spell scroll
raw sausoshell = 1000

As long as there is a disadvantage in being in smaller server, smaller servers will continue to deteriorate. And more players will find dofus to be more stressful instead of a way to relieve stress.
Those are fair numbers, cannot be abused since they are all separate servers so a big thumbs up for this.

And you know what pisses me and my friends off? It's that Ankama are all for helping small servers like this ridiculous dungeon update, and they reduced the number of players from 64 to 32 (to open Grozilla/Grasmera's Cave) to help small servers...but they actually forget the important stuff.

The Otomaisle and Vulkorog competition quests are bugged.

The competition ended very recently, so I was forced to rejoin the Otomaisle (yellow) team to keep all of the Otomaisle Scarves I'd previously gathered.

At the time, I had just finished two more quests and was attempting hand the Rock Crystals and Sauroshell Bloods to Seamus Tard, the NPC.

After soiling the Vulkorog flag, I returned to Seamus Tard and rejoined the team -- but he will not accept my Rock Crystals and Sauroshell Bloods, even after re-accepting the quests.

Since the NPC will not accept the 'old' quest items from me, I can no longer collect scarves or accept new quests.

As a result, the Otomaisle/Vulkorog competition is completely frozen for me.

...Alright, after I typed all of that, I relogged and the NPC did take the Rock Crystals. Finally. So relogging seems to fix that issue. But while I do have 5 of each Sauroshell Bloods, he will not accept them. The 'counter' for the quest was reset to 0/5 of each type of Venerable Sauroshell defeated. I tried killing another Sauroshell, and the 'counter' was indeed updated -- but doing so did not give me a 6th blood. So... do I really need to kill 10 of each Sauroshell to collect the reward I would get for killing 5, instead? I don't mind doing it, but it really shouldn't have to be that way.

Also, I know the NPC says that winners are declared each Tuesday -- but why must we complete the 'Survivor' quest to re-join a team on Monday morning?

Hello,

the Spawn rate seems different. Yesterday I defeat venerable Mobs, in two hours time after many slayed shells not one rare appears. But in only one hour I caught 15 haerts from juvenile Sauroshells!

Also, people have started to resort to ganging to "protect their raw sauroshell spawns" from people that wander onto the map.

The respawn rate for raws is absolutely ridiculous right now. I spent a total of 8 hours over two days to collect 20 of them for my little nub (I haven't even started on my "big kids" yet). Keep in mind nobody else was even down there to steal the raws if they spawned. After I finally got the 20th shplinter, I turned them in only to have that bitch Bonnie make me gather the next size up because he had leveled to the next group. Unless the spawn rate changes, I won't be doing anything else there. I don't need the cute little pet and emote enough to make me want to continuously bang my head on my desk.
