Almanax: Making every day unique!
2012-08-24 16:00
You already know about the Protectors of the months. You’re also aware of the Deamons of the Hours…  What you didn’t know, is that days also have their benefactors! Begining September 18, discover the Meridia, and if you accomplish all the challenges of these minor divinities, available on the Almanax, you might be rewarded with a brand new DOFUS egg: The Dolmanax!

Several years ago, Magus Ax, eminent Professor of magic and divinatory arts, decided to solve a great mystery: if months were governed by Protectors, and hours by Daemons, what about the days? Wasn’t there anyone in the high spheres of Ingloriom watching over them?

And how could one explain these strange events that repeat each year, such as St. Ballotwine's Day or Al Howin's Curse or Kwismas Island? What if each day had such an impact, each to a greater or lesser extent, in the World of Twelve?

Specialist of astral journeys, Magus Ax explored the Krosmoz and found the answer on the Astral Plane: minor gods hand-picked by Xelor himself were promoted to the position of "Keepers of the Days" or Meridia. Each one of them had special powers and personalities, influencing the day they were bound to. That’s what we call the Meridian Effect
The research of Magus Ax was then collected into a book: the Almanax.

Starting September 18th, all adventurers will get access to this book online, to discover the Meridian Effect of the day, which translates into a theme, a daily quest and an in-game bonus!
In other words, each new day will offer rewards to those who read the Almanax and complete the daily quest.

But getting back to the new Dofus, only the most devoted can entertain the hope of collecting one! It will only be granted to those who have completed the 365 daily quests of the Almanax… Even though its origins and powers are not yet fully known, it will surely be proof that you completed a great deed…

This obscure Dofus egg changes colors with the seasons. Warm and golden in the heart of summer, chilling and cooling as winter creeps over the land. It's rumored to have been laid by a dragon who fell in love with a peddler who came selling antique calendars to the dragon's cave.

The insatiably curious can read more about the Almanax and its origines in this month's issue of the DOFUS Mag! We'll be back with more news as the 2.8 update gets closer!

According to Sylfaen there'll be a devblog with more details early next week [note: this coming week, it was posted on Friday]. It's supposed to say more about the different quests, getting the Dolmanax, the intermediary rewards (there are immediate rewards of each quest, but also intermediary rewards throughout the year), and the interface for the big yearly quest.

does it have to be 365 day quests in a row?
From what Izmar said earlier in the post, if you miss a day that just means you will be behind one day. You won't be forced to wait another year until you can complete the quest.

You are allowed to miss days... do the 5th quest on the 10th day, and continue the 6th on the 11th etc...

Kinda a cheap trick to get everyone logging and subbing for all these days though... I hardly look one year into the future, but hopefully there are decent mini-prizes every few steps or so.

Missions related to Kolosium? That would be a bit unfair. On my server, you should be lucky getting one fight. Not to mention if you're lucky enough to get a decent team...
I agree. I rarely do Kolo and I would hate for a quest needing a Kolo requirement. Same would go for alignments or other PVP battles.
