Battlescars guide to being a chance sacrier

By piggypiee#4593 - SUBSCRIBER - November 13, 2012, 09:01:40
I will be writing this guide as i feel the other chance sacrier guides on the forums are rather outdated, and as a very experienced sacrier i felt i could offer some help to some people wanted to build and develop the awesome beings that are sacriers.

The Basics

Okay, first and foremost sacriers are tanks, they need lots of hp to store all the damage and then come back with there attacks, chance sacs are very fortunate to be blessed with not only one elemental attack but two; Dissolution and Fury. This is an immediate green like for me as you have another spell in ur arsenal.

Now as a sacrier u want to pump vitality with your stats as sacriers are made to be tanks and berserkers for every 1 characteristic point you get 2 vitality points, along with 5 hp a level like everyone else, as you can imagine you are going to get a lot of hp soon.
For a sacrier i would reccomend scrolling stats if possible, however it is not nessicary if you don't the funds, i didnt scroll and my damage was pretty great.

Spells

Okay this will be a primary list of spells and there may be 1 or 2 spells u question why i leveled them, i will explain the purpose and reason why you should have these leveled;

Bold Punishment (to boost ur chance attacks)
Nimble Punishment(to lock monsters around you so u can disso them)
Dissolution(your attack, it has an aoe (Area of effect) surrounding you and deals steal with a steal, you receive half of what u hit back as hp)
Attract(to pull monsters into disso range)
Vital punishment(its a punishment that restores some hp when ur taking damage, although it makes u not able to use ur weapon for a few turns, i would reccomend this)
Cooperation(to swap places with an enemy, a good combo here is to coop a monster and get in line with it to attract and attack or so)
Transposition(to swap places with an ally, say for instance to get them out of danger and get you in the action)
Punishment(this spell does better damage if ur hp is close to half or 50% (side note, u can see this by clicking ur hp heart twice) and the more vit u have the more this will hit, my punishes at 50% are about 1.7k at the moment)
Fury( a ranged chance attack with has an AoE(area of effect if u didnt know) which also increases ur damage for 4 turns, this spell makes u take 1% of ur hp as damage when u are hit aswell)
Flying sword(a sword summon which attacks with neutral damage, i find this is useful to place and transposition if u need to move or set up ur disso or something but the damage from it isnt too bad)
Sacrifice( now u learn this spell a lot earlier on than this but i didnt find myself needing to use it so much at the lower levels so i would reccomend leveling it now or so)
Assault( now this is an agility attack but there is good reason for leveling this, every once in a while u will bump into a monster that is resistant to your element, be it chance here, and you are going to have a lot of chance and agility in fights(agility from nimble punishment) so i find it incredibly useful to have assault leveled here)

Equips

Now i will write an equipment list from the point of a sacrier that isnt leeching and just grinding and killing;

Level 1 - Young Adventurer Set

Level 21 - Moskito/Farmer set (i would advise using this with farmer set peices and a farmer scythe)

FOR MORE WISDOM --> Level 38 - Prespic Set ,Silimelle wedding ring x2, Pin o Mhete, Tarsy Boots and generic wis gear (now u will notice this is a wisdom set and not a chance set, the reason i reccomend this is that u get ur chance in fights so you can do that i did at these levels and go around grinding in wisdom gear and the xp works out pretty nice)

Level 43 - Akwadala Set - This set is a good set for a chance sacrier, u get 7 ap from set and if you decide to get alligned and level ur wing rank up u can use the shield and then switch the amulet for a kam austra amulet and have 8 ap by yourself, pretty neat set, well worth the money. I would use this over ice kwak set because of the chance and vit advantages. Also u could use a kam austra amulet and a Treechnid root bow here for 8 AP.

Level 50 - Indigo blop set - This is a good 4 peice set which provides a lot of chance and vit but not too amazing wisdom, and this set has disadvantages; it makes you have -50% fire resistance meaning you will take more damage from fire based attacks, Personally i would leave this set line alone till level 80 when it gets a lot better. Use with caution.

Level 60 - 8AP wisdom set - This is again for the people who want to be getting quick levels in wisdom gear grinding, use the set above but use a Gelano and a kam austra amulet this will make fights a lot smoother and easier with 8 ap for 2 dissolutions

Level 70 - Chief Crocadyl set - this is a nice set which provides you with 2 additional ap so if you wanted to you could not use a gelano for now and use a wedding ring for additional wisdom, but if u wanted to use a gelano you would have 9 ap with would help if u are fighting something which steals ap.

Level 80 - Royal indigo blop set - This is like the lower level set but much better, the gear gives more bonuses and the amulet gives ap now, this can work nice with a mixture of chief crocadyl set peices aswell

Level 114 - Ancestral set - Quite a few levels have passed since a gear upgrade but hey, if it isn't broken, why fix it? now this set gives a lot more in the line of stats than the previous and is pretty much a bread and butter set for a chance sacrier, and its not suprising its a really nice useful set... But dont get used to it, u will be upgrading soon smile you will want to use an axel for this aswell which is an ap weapon and will put u at 10 ap which is handy for some good combos like bold, nimble, diso ^^

Level 130 - Royal mastogob and Mastic set - Okay this is where it starts to get good ^^, these two sets fit perfectly together and are relatively new which mean they harbour some stats not available in the older sets which is exciting. Now i said these sets fit perfectly together I would use your axel still instead of the mastic hammer so u still have 10 ap, this is my personal choice so you dont have to follow it but i would advise it, and i would reccomend this set over ancestral for the better chance and agility and vit ^^

Level 139- Zoth warrior axe - this will replace your axel and gives a lot more bonuses such as vit, dmg, prospecting and its a multi-elemental wep so it can get potentially very powerful.

Level 168 Mopy King set - This set is a lovely 3 peice set which gives a lot of chance agility vitality wisdom in each peice, its worth using this with either your rm/mastic set or a custom set of Mopy + Minotot fillers would work very nicely ^^

Level 179 - undergrowth set - Another 3 peice seit which works amazingly well with mopy and comes with a chance axe which when maged to chance becomes very powerful.

OPTIONAL SET CHANGE
- Level 185 - Ougaa set - now i got mixed feelings on this, i switched out of my mopy for this set and at first was pretty happy until i realised the power/vit/wisdom from this set wasnt compensating for the chance/agi/ and other stats i lost, therefore im classing this as an optional change and personally i prefered my mopy/undergrowth.

Endgame set time - By now u should have an idea of what to use for your charcter so for now i will leave this section blank.

Pets/mounts

As a sacrier you are open to a large choice of pets and mounts and as vitality is vital(get it? tongue) for a sacrier i would reccomend a Emerald/ginger dragoturkey for a sacrier, regardless of build, this dt gives 300 vit and 1mp which i find incredibly useful.

Leveling spots

Now as a chance sac starting up is always a pain as you dont get ur chance spells till level 17 and 70, BUT there is a nice mess free way around this, In incarnam u can reset ur stats and spells for free up to lvl 30 so i would level sacriers foot and forced punishment and use those till level 21 and then go to incarnam reset and level disso and bold punishment.

Now i know grinding mobs gets tiresome and boring but its good easy xp if ur willing to work for it, so sorry if my guild seems a bit repetitive.

Level 1-10 Incarnam piwis/crabs (some light fights to ease you into a sacrier)

Level 10-15 Chafers in incarnam (Still in the startup area but easy quick xp)

Level 15-20 Astrub piwis or Chafers in Incarnam still

Level 20-38
Gobbals in Tainela or Gobbal corner

Level 38-50 Mushds In Mushd Corner

Level 50-60 Kani mobs Surrounding Bonta

Level 60-80
Pignolias in Porco Territory

Level 80-100
Pignolias in Porco Territory OR Small frig rats/cats mobs in Frigost

Level 100-120 Rats and cats mobs in frigost or small mastogob mobs

Level 120-160 medium to large mastogob mobs in Frigost

Level 160+ Now is usually a good time to advance through frigost or start farming dungeons for money/xp ^^ i think shortly after this i branched out into making my team and farming dungeons...And i never looked back smile

Waiting for the rest of this.. lol. Just started playing again and decided to start fresh on a new account with a chance sac.

The guide on the dofus wiki is good but I had the same idea when building my sac as you did..

The other guide doesn't use nimble or vital punishment at all, and both of those seemed like great spells to me. Nimble for the assault damage, and I hadn't even thought of it being able to prevent dodge rolls and stuff which would help diss.

Can anyone else put their two cents in to if this is a better way to build your chance sac rather than the cookie cutter build on the wiki?

this guide IMO is for more of a PvM sac while the cookie cutter guide is for more of a PvP cha sac.

also @ piggy pie you may want to add for an easier 8th ap at lvl 43 would be akawakda set with kam assutras amulet + treechnid bow. it does subtract 66 vita and require 30 ish agi and 15 str but the agi you can get from aerdalla geta and they have to wear a str ring or scroll. just another possibility I used on my cha sac. also saves a bit of money because I find the akawalda staff costs the most of the entire set.

I would just like to add that your title is incorrectly capitalized. You are supposed to capitalize all words that are not connectors or articles examples being: And, it, or, the, for, etc. So with that being said the correct capitalization of your title would
be,"Battlescars Guide to Being a Chance Sacrier"

And until that is changed I refuse to give this more than a 9/10.

Best of wishes, Tuna.

I just wanna know, is it really the best choice to use zoth warrior axe over metal hammer at the level which is stated in the guide?
Thanks

Ulysse; Yeah, there are 2 reasons why Zoth is an ap weapon which will dump u back at the 10 ap sweetspot and the basic fact that if ur using the hammer for CC your not going to be healing, at these levels your cc hits wont be stronger then your diso hits

If your lvl 70 *assumeing you have a decent wis set with at least 8 ap* just stick with that set and use Royal Blop (level 80), gelano and axel. this will leave you with alot of cha decent wis/vita/ch. you can also sub the axel/gelano with a wisdom item if your 100% sure the monsters cannot ap reap.

I would recommend to use proper spelling of words such as "you" in place of "u". Also abbreviations should be more neatly put...
and will put u at 10 ap which is handy for some good combos like bold, nimble, diso ^^
...and will put you at 10 AP, which is handy for some good combinations such as Bold Punishment, Nimble Punishment, followed by Dissolution.

There's just lots of cleaning up to do to make it look nicer.

Actually if you swap the amulet from the akwadala set for the kam assutra ammy you'll still only have 7 ap.
It's the ammy from the set that gives you an ap which boosts your ap to 7. Now if you swapped the staff for the treechnid root bow then you'd have 8 ap. Assuming it can be equipped at that level and I don't see why you wouldn't be able to equip it. Other than that oversight and the unnecessary shortening of you to u this is a good guide
