imo best pvm element doesnt exist, u should just fit it to your play style. 
-agi: nice mobility, hight single target dmg, nice mele aoe
-str: most tanky, hiht single target dmg, great mele aoe
-cha mostly rang, great for kiting, also not bad aoe
-int: good map control, nice aoes, can be also a support (healing during duos expl)

Depends on your budget that you can spend. Normally there's a big boost in equipment stats at ~150, so you can surely make it last until then. Maybe even change individual pieces along the way.

Is Vit build not viable anymore?  I just came back after 10 years.  Going through the spells and stats, everything seem different now.
