Welcome to Incarnam - Zatoishwan

I am giving away a number of sets and equips to novice players. I'm especially looking for people who are new to the mechanics of the game, who have had trouble progressing and those who do not feel brave enough (at the moment!) to venture outside of Incarnam. I can offer you some advice, or perhaps a little motivation, and definitely a set or two to give you a push in the right direction! happy

You may see me running around Incarnam & Astrub, looking for people to give the sets to - if you don't come to me I'll come to you, there's no escape. biggrin

If you happen to be on another server and reading this, feel free to make a Zatoishwan character and message me via Ankabox to arrange a meeting!

Best Wishes

WinterHeart

Hi everybody smile

It has been nearly 10 months since I created this thread offering help to the adventurers of Zatoishwan. During this time I donated hundreds of free sets and resources - the most popular being Adventurer, Gob, Scaraleaf and Prespic. I have met some wonderful people, some of which have come a long way. One of them, in fact, is currently eating Frigost 3 Quests like a rabid squirrel in a nut factory.

During the last 10 months I was also approached by people in need of a different type of help. It was surprising at first to hear from those that needed advice on whether it is safe to share accounts (which is strictly against Ankama's Terms of Service guys >.&gtwink, how to raise their Ankama shield, how to deal with an explosion of homework at school, how to tell your parents that you failed your examinations (seriously... you guys xD) and how to resolve trade disputes.

The trade disputes and accusations of "scamming" are one area that has taken up a lot of my time. On Sunday 06 October 2013 I spent a total of 7 straight hours dealing with a situation where 2 friends decided to share accounts. Several hours after their blood pact and pledge to "never tell WinterHeart" of their ungodly sharing agreement, both friends claimed to have been "hacked". *pulls hair out of its sockets*

In the end we did get to the bottom of this mystery and one of the two friends had some serious apologising to do. Some stolen gear was returned, after which I invested time towards explaining to the others why I am not going to report the "scammer" - instead, I am going to mentor him personally to ensure that he survives this calamity. I did, after all, promise to fully support him if he could work with me to put things right...

In any case, I then promptly experienced what you might call a mini cyber breakdown. Somehow, I had managed to spend over 10 hours straight (with little food and water!) dealing with the above situation. My friends told me to go away and have a drink (thank you, Red Bull) and when I returned to my computer my eyes popped out of their sockets. I saw the below image on my screen, and hundreds of messages on Skype where some of my closest personal friends were debating how they can help prolong my sanity ='D

My friends had the idea of establishing a "company" within Dofus, which is essentially a Charity, where people can seek and receive all kinds of help. This is no different than what I am already doing, but the beauty with the company is that I have assistants available to help... Welcome to the WinterCo!

Whenever I am too busy to help, or when enquiries pile all the way to the ceiling, I will direct some of the work to the WinterCo - a place where you can confidentially register your cry for help and receive appropriate assistance. My friends have volunteered to help me with the farming of sets, passing of advice to members of the community and offering help to anyone experiencing hardship. Isn't that awesome wub

We have created a system for allocating the jobs to different people on the team, based on the nature of the enquiry and how urgent it is. Each team member has a unique code-name - this is because we do not want to compromise in-game identities. The masked superheroes include "Winter of Mind and Matter" (this is one of my lady friends who specialises in psychology and therapy); "Winter of Dreams" (another lady friend, who happens to be an artist and a very sensitive soul); "Winter of not-so-much-common-sense" (if you are going to ask questions like "where do babies comes from" expect this troll to come to your aid); and "Winter of Night Owls" (a friend who will work the Euro night-shift).

So, without further ado, this thread is now one of the official places where the WinterCo resides! If you wish to contact us outside Dofus (either for Dofus-related assistance or non-Dofus help), please email us on [email protected]. If you contact me in-game and I am unable to help you, I will either direct you here or give you the details of another Dofus account set up specifically to deal with such matters (details to be provided in due course).

Please remember that when it comes to Dofus we prefer to assist individuals that are experiencing hardship or those who are new to the game. We would love to talk to you no matter what difficulties you may be facing, but sometimes the best help that you can get would be words of wisdom, motivation and a well-delivered kick on the buttocks!

The WinterCo has arrived cool Thank you to my dear friends who have offered their support and anonymous help - this will allow me to free up gaming time (and spend moar time with my girlfriends wub ) while improving quality and speed of service! Thank you also "Winter of Dreams" for the beautiful art *loves*

First Ankama intervention

Y'know, I thought that I had commented on this thread already, but apparently, I had not!

Welcoming people to Dofus is one of those issues near and dear to my heart, so I thoroughly approve of this initiative. =)

I'd love to see this spread to some other servers!

I'm sure you will continue to make a difference for people that are just beginning their Dofus journey. Nix and few other old Zatoishwans just came back and server transferred which is cool. Miss them. Thunder-Blast as well who was very friendly and was the first to help me when I came to Zato.

Yes, these are excellent news biggrin

I never considered changing servers, and quite frankly I never will. However I am always happy when people bother to investigate the other side of the fence - it allows them to see first-hand that things aren't always as they seem! I'm sure that some people go to other servers and find a better place, but others apparently don't. In fact, as Pepsii said on another thread, the fact that so many people leave Zato but end up coming back says a lot...

As for helping out the beginners, I believe that our economy has (or should have) a pyramid-type structure where a large number of people are spending small at one end and a small number of people are spending big at the other end. If we give the people on the bottom end a helping hand and a push in the right direction, they will help our economy to stabilise by spending money (for example to upgrade). This makes money available for everyone else to spend too, though not in the short term. To cut a long story short, I believe Zato's economic problem has more to do with cash flow and less to do with cash itself - we seem to be recovering from a liquidity crisis, so pumping freebies and encouraging new players to grow might have a long-term benefit for everyone smile

I guess you could liken this to quantitative easing, but don't say it too loudly because the Dofus economists will stone me to death ph34r

PS - I can help out with an Ogi set but at the moment my waiting list for sets is as big as Wolverine's sideburns...

It's a pleasure : )

I noticed that your brother is also playing now - if he needs some sets or a push in the right direction ask him to PM me. If I don't reply to messages, because sometimes I'm multi-accounting, use Ankabox instead. I'll reply as soon as I find the time to go through my messages : )

Take care, and thanks for joining Zato!

WinterHeart

PS - if you know others on Rushu who have been struggling for a long time in Incarnam, why don't you ask them to join Zato and have a chat with me? We can give them some low level sets, get them to join your Guild and unleash them all over Cania to murder innocent blops biggrin

Firstly, thanks a lot to Winterheart for what he's given me (two scarleaf sets and a gobball set) tongue it's very generous of him to do so! My week long experience has also been a very pleasant one, being able to meet a bunch of really cool people that are willing to train with me! So i would like to encourage those who are considering on making a new character to join zatoishwan as its a really pleasant place to be! Oh and btw Winterheart is still going at it! He's still giving sets to newbies that just join dofus! biggrin Ok i'm going to close... Have a nice day! smile

I'm thinking of starting again after a 6 year break.. I think I might start on either this or solar..
I think it's really neat that someone's actually nice enough to do this and help out beginners.
Question tho, I hear zato has quite a low population so hunting might be a bit difficult? Is this true?

Kaleidoscop3! Yes there is! i just received some starter sets yesterday! Forgot to mention bout the extra prespic set i got too! haha. Well it's true that Zato has a lower population relatively compared to other servers but its the people in it that counts! I personally have only been to one server which is zato but have really enjoyed my stay so far. It gets lonely only on incarnam because most of the fun is happening in the mainland! In addition if you're p2p and in the right time zone you'ill be able to meet plenty of people!

Hi there guys : )

It was lovely meeting both of you! I am very happy to hear the sets are serving you well Chaos, be sure to drop me a line via Ankabox to let me know how you are getting on. It's nice seeing a few active new players breathing life into the server!

As for you Kaleidoscop3, sorry for being a little busy today... I saw your message and I'll get back to you via Ankabox now : ) Let me know a little about your characters and what builds you want to pursue; I will prepare some advice and a few start-up sets to help you out!

Yes it is true that the population of Zato is relatively low, but in some ways this is good. The community is more close-knitted and some areas are packed with starred mobs. The downside is that often it is challenging to create groups, especially if you are a new member of the community. However, you would do well to remember that it takes more than just a busy server to guarantee that you will find groups - if you make friends and people enjoy your company then you should have no trouble finding groups!

Best wishes

WinterHeart

PS - be sure to also tell your friends to contact me if they need a helping hand to get started

Hello to you too!

Str and Int are excellent builds for a start-up Eca! At your level, a Gob set is probably the best way to go. smile You can test out either of the two builds using the same set, since it gives str and int simultaneously. In fact, this is a great start-up set for any new character who has str and int spells...

I'll give you a Gob set next time we meet online. As you approach level 40 you can start thinking about Scaraleaf sets too (green scaraleaf is for str, red scaraleaf is for int, white scaraleaf gives agility and blue scaraleaf is for chance). I have quite a lot of these sets so I'll hook you up with something when the time comes. happy

You should also look through your resources and see what equips you can craft from the drops that you collected. If you right-click on any item and then select "associated recipes" you may see something with str or int that you like. On that note, you can also check the Dofus wiki to find equips that might be useful for you. And don't forget - Achievements can land you plenty of items that you once had to work very hard to collect. Take advantage of this feature to craft sets, either to sell to your friends or to use on your own characters.

My apologies if this information is too basic, I thought it's useful to put it down for others to read as well.

See you in-game : )

Hi Winterheart, I posted on the the other thread, but seeing as I posted with the wrong account I'd figure it would be best to do it again to avoid confusion.

I started playing Dofus again after a very long break due to studies, I started as a Sacrier in Zatoishwan and plan on making an alt in the future that would compliment my current character. If you would be kind enough to help me I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

Hello there!

Many thanks for your message : )

Srams are a lot of fun to play with, and if you consider yourself a beginner then a strength sram is probably a good way to get started! I will give you a Gob set to get you started but I can also recommend some interesting strength equips next time I catch you online.

If you have access to the newest Dofus mag, check out page 56 for an interesting guide that includes a sram/panda tag-team! You might recognise the name of the author too tongue

As for Guilds, there's a couple of really good start-up Guilds that I can think of. Message me in-game and I will introduce you to a few people and Guilds smile Be sure to also message me in order to claim your Gob set!

Nice! This could be the next big Zato tag-team in the making :-)

Sacs are not straightforward characters to pair because they are traditionally used for tanking mobs. A panda could be a good partner for you because it can support you in your tanking efforts (by throwing enemies to specific squares). The panda can also donate MP to your Sac, and summon a Pandawasta which would help with tanking and locking. Other good partners for a Sac would be the Osa, Sram, Enu and Eniripsa classes - but you can always try any class that intrigues you and see whether the partnership works.

Drop me a line by Ankabox and let me know what level you are and which build you will pursue. I'm sure I can help you out in one way or another : )

Yes of course - can you remind me what levels these are? I have some lvl 40-50 sets I can give to you, but if you your level is not quite as high as that I can make something else for you instead. Let me know via Ankabox or in-game and I'll sort you out with something smile

Hi there smile

I've got a couple of basic sets covering each element, I'll put a bunch together for you sometime this week. Hopefully I'll get round to it tomorrow after work, but if you haven't heard from me by Tuesday please drop me a reminder in-game or via Ankabox smile

Hi there!

I'll give you a green scaraleaf set to get you started, and I'll make a couple of fillers for you too. If you want I'll get a Gob set made for you - they are quite low level but they are very good start-up sets. You can always use them on an alt if you feel that Iop has already outgrown them tongue

Drop me a line in-game or by Ankabox and I'll put something together for you smile
