Welcome to DOFUS, and thanks for joining us! We hope you're enjoying yourself so far! Did you know there are lot of hidden secrets in the game and in the game client that will make your life a bit easier while you're playing? We've listed a few below to help you get acquainted with the World of Twelve. If you have questions, need some help, or you want to introduce yourself and find some friends, this forum is the place for you! Click on "Welcome to the Incarnam Inn" at the top of this page and start a new thread.
Tip 1: Having trouble finding quest objectives? The compass button in your quest interface will mark them on your map:
This little button will help make your life much easier when doing quests. And don't forget that you can click on the name of a quest in your chat window when you receive it to jump directly to the quest and turn on its compass buttons.
Tip 2: When building your first character, concentrate on one main element and perhaps one secondary element. Don't try to be a jack-of-all-trades.
Veteran RPG players may find it almost impossible to resist the idea of a character who is equally strong in all elements. However, in DOFUS, you'll find your damage and effectiveness as a character much stronger if you take a look at your spells, find the ones that you like best, and then focus on only increasing the element that matches those spells.
Find equipment that will increase your health and wisdom rather than putting points into them; most classes will do much better putting these points into their main or secondary element. The major exception are Sacriers who receive two hit points for the price of one characteristic point... what a deal!
As you get more experienced, you might want to try building a multi-elemental or omni-elemental character, just be aware that these types of builds usually work best with scrolling and special equipment, which means they can be more expensive and slower to level.
Tip 3: If you make a mistake while building up your character, you can have a free stat reset any time you like at the Incarnam Inn, up until you are level 30.
Tip 4: When communicating with other players, you can automatically share your stats, level, and position on the map by using the following commands: %stats% %level%, or %pos%.
These commands will make it easier to share information about your character with others that you are teamed up with. Don't forget that while you're in Incarnam, you can click on other players and "Join" them automatically. But this only works if you are both in the Incarnam area!
Other useful chat commands: /time, /ping, and /whois playername
Tip 5: Right-click on things. Monsters, the interface, stacks of players standing at a zaap. They all have secondary options that will inform you or give you customization options.
This one will change your life.
This one too!
This one helps you learn about a monster before it tries to eat your face.
This one helps you make friends or make a trade (although you only need to left-click to bring this one up).
Tip 6: Stuck inside a building and not sure how to get out?
There are two types of indoor exits in DOFUS - the yellow and green sunburst, and interactive elements like doors or stairs. Here are some examples that can be found in Incarnam.
The yellow and green starburst is always an exit or entry point to another map. They're in use throughout the game, so keep your eyes open for them!
Some exits or entrances are interactive background elements, like these stairs. When you mouse over them, they will light up and you'll see your pointer change to the gear icon.
Tip 7: Check monsters' resistances by mousing over them while in battle.
Some monsters have resistances or weaknesses to certain elements. You'll have a much easier time in battle if you watch for these resistances and weaknesses and try to match your type of damage to each monster's least protected element!
For example, attack this little guy with anything except fire spells!
Tip 8: Watch fight text for information about elements that monsters attack with.
The client automatically outputs a list of all actions that take place during combat to the game chat. You can use this log to see what element monsters are using to attack you.
In the screenshot above you can see that the Frightened Evil Dandelion has attacked Izmar for 14 points of fire elemental damage, then Izmar retaliates with 18 points of water elemental damage.
Understanding monsters' elemental damage is particularly useful if you play as a Feca and need to protect yourself or your team effectively, but it can also be helpful if you're having trouble with a monster and want to try gear with damage resistance to increase your chance of survival.
So that's just a few simple tips to help you get started on your DOFUS adventure. If you learn other tips or tricks as you explore the World of Twelve, please share them with us here.

this will help te beginners a lot further
I saw one mistake:

The major exception are Sacriers who receive three hit points for the price of one characteristic point... what a deal!
but a Sacrier receives 2 hit points for every characteric point invest in it.

I highly recommend that you find a guild as soon as possible for social interaction, to make new friends, and to receive advice + guidance in your conquest to face the complex yet intriguing World of Dofus.
Try to get out of Incarnam as soon as possible by going to 9,3 then teleport to Astrub to see people.
Pick a gathering profession from Alchemist, Farmer, Fisherman, Hunter, Lumberjack, and Miner to begin on channeling a steady flow of kamas.
Always try to complete challenges in fight to achieve more xp and loot. Stars above a monster head also means more xp and loot.
Visit Bonta and Brakmar markets once you are pay to play to get a better understanding of the prices and what you may have to do.
If you are stuck in understanding a Dofus concept, check out places like Dofus wikipedia, Imps Village, and here definitely.
Thank you so much. there is one more thing. one more tip is that if you want to de-equip a item you click on the - button on the inventory to activate the charecter panel
Im glad I helped a bit. If anyone else on here could add even more tips in greater details, that would be great because it may make our newer players enjoy the game more and actually stick to playing.
