server confusion

• - Echo does allow multiaccounting;
• - Illy does not;
• - both are 2.x version of the game

• - if you're nostalgic or want to see old dofus, can even try a retro server sometime;
• - sometime they're like event servers, 2-3 months, called temporis, where after a certaintime char gets deleted and you get some rewards you can transfer on a regular server, based on what you manage to accomplish on the temporis server.

hey mate ^^, thanks a lot for taking the time to respond,
what about the grouping, since if it's anything like wakfu, u can't solo any dungeon by yourself, i'm planning on only playing a single character, would illy be a better choice for me? since there wouldn't be people playing by themselves on multiaccounts (like it is in wakfu, was quite a pain finding people to play with there because of the hero system, made it easy to just make three characters and go play on your own).
as for the temporis server, this seems hella fun to play, can't wait for one of those.

Just keep both?  Get bored on one server you could then hop on the other, but there are vast differences between the 2.

One of the main reasons why people multi-account on Echo is because finding groups can be hard. Like trying for over a year for one Dungeon group run hard, unless you have a huge bank balance! In my opinion its worse than Wakfu, but not as hard as on Ily.

The game is so kama focused now that a lot of people will charge you a premium for the smallest bite of information - such as Divine Dimension Portals (Srambad/Ecaflipus/Enurado/Xelorium) 

You can play single account on Echo but keep in mind, although there are a lot of multi-players on the server its slightly less expensive than Ily, great for as you get towards the higher levels.

On Ily you may find you'll have to grind for a much longer time to get either the resources or close to the kamas need for a resource to make certain gear.
Also on Echo if you do have the kamas to pay for help in a dungeon or quest fight usually whoever helps will bring a ready made team with them whereas on Ily you could end up having to pay several players a much higher price and search longer for the same assistance.

As you level up some dungeons become possible to solo, especially if they have specific mechanics to them.
Dofus dungeons dont have Stasis levels though and the monsters dont drop half as much equipment, nor is there a dungeon token system.
Dofus' Almanax also requires actual items to be given in order to go "pray" to the Meridia of the day but the bonus effects are in place even if you dont complete that days Almanax offering.
Another point too, Omega levels are totally "cosmetic" in the respect of you dont gain any further stat points after level 200, you only gain 5 pods per level above 200 and some ornaments and an aura at every + 100 omega, although its easier on Dofus to focus on a specific element (Agility, Strength, Chance, Intelligence) character build.

On Echo though I would certainly recommend finding bohemia#2044 she's amazing, funny and plays regularly with lots of other players.

 

Being able to speak French gives you a ton of flexibility on Dofus. While Ilyzaelle is an international server, and there is an English community there, the French community is much larger by a LOT. You would have a lot of opportunities to play with people from both communities, and find a guild you really like. Plenty of Arabic speakers there too, and bilingual French/Arabic or English/Arabic of course.

Echo has a majority English speaking presence, and there's also a French community. Lots of people on Echo speak both, and there are also folks who speak Arabic. The overall population of Echo is way smaller, but you'll be able to use multiple accounts if you want. I do agree with Angelsnow in that you should try out both and see which you like better. If you feel like you'd prefer to run multiple accounts, and you don't mind the smaller social scene and playing with mostly English speakers, Echo might be for you.
