[2.63] Bosking in Evil - Beta server

Hello, future 2.63 adventurers!

As announced yesterday, the 2.63 beta server is being prepared to open today.

We encountered a small hiccup when importing a copy of your characters onto the beta server. Re-exporting the data of all your characters would mean we will only be ready to open the Beta tomorrow, but we don't want the testing to wait until then. As such, we have decided to take an alternative route:

Later today, we will open a first beta server. Upon connecting, you will be asked to create a new character.

Do not worry: we will activate Beta specific NPCs to facilitate your progression, via special experience scrolls and equipment.



The NPCs that will help you get set and prepare for some testing sessions will be:

• Maho Snowfox, [-78,-41] Frigost Zaap
• Test-a-Beast, [-2,0] Amakna Village Zaap
• several NPCs on each of the three "merchant" maps at the south, west and east exits of Astrub (Equipment 1-49 / 50-99 / 100-149)
• several NPCs on "merchant" maps near the Amakna Kanojedo (equipment 150-199 / 200)
• Friloute (merch mode character) with additional level 200 equipment, [0,0] Amakna Kanojedo

Once you are set up, you will be able to test some of the class balancing changes, do treasure hunts, and play about with the improvements brought forward to the guild management interface.

Tomorrow, if all goes well, we will open the second beta test server that has a copy of your classic server characters and close the first one.

The reason we still want you to be able to test the content with your own character is simple: we want you to be able to test the new evil forest content also, as some elements are tied to pre-requisites in terms of quests that the majority of you would have already completed on your classic servers.


The goal is to help you maximize the frequency and efficiency of testing you can do. Testing an update takes time and can prove bothersome, which is why we believe giving you access to a copy of your character will make this process easier and as comfortable as possible for those investing their time into helping us improve the update.

The Beta server will open at 3 p.m. CET. And yes, once the Beta server will open, we will publish the changelog.*

* For the duration of the beta, only a French version of the changelog will be available to you. Some in-game content might not be yet translated either.

Due to our team's production schedule, our translation department is still working on translating the new game content (quest texts, NPC names, monster names, item names/descriptions, or user interface text) and will be doing so up until the final release. We realize that it can be frustrating to try to test features under these circumstances, and we apologize for the trouble.
