Below are all the changes made for Beta 2.64.

Temporal Anomaly Revamp

Current Situation

The existing temporal anomaly system is in place to spread players across the various territories of the World of Twelve and prevent players from going to the same territories. To do so, the system counts the number of battles fought in a zone, then compares this number with the other territories of the same level. The higher the number of monsters defeated in a territory relative to other territories of the same level, the more the XP and loot bonus in that territory goes down (minimum: -18%), and vice versa (maximum: 90%).

When a territory has a negative bonus, it is eligible to open an anomaly. If an anomaly opens in the territory, monsters in the territory get a power boost. The territory's zaap will then grant access to one of the 10 anomaly bosses at random. This boss is the same level as the zone and can only be defeated once per character. The anomaly will close 30 minutes after a player has defeated the anomaly boss.

The current system had a number of issues:

  • Doing an anomaly wasn't appealing to many people because the rewards were too hard to get.
  • The territory bonuses stagnated at -18% or +90%.
  • Anomalies stayed open for too long.
  • The system didn't penalize the types of players who overgenerated resources.

With these changes, we want to:

  • make anomalies more appealing as a source of opportunities for players
  • make legendary pets more accessible
  • use bonuses to add variety to zones

New System

  • We've changed how the zone bonuses/penalties work:
    • There is no longer a penalty. The bonus ranges from 0% to 100%.
    • This bonus changes every hour. The more battles there are in a territory relative to other territories of the same level, the more its bonus will decrease.
    • Battles fought in dungeons and dimensions have a greater impact on the bonus than those fought in "regular" territories.
    • The formula for calculating this bonus has been balanced to have a majority of territories with a bonus between 20 and 80%.
  • An anomaly can open in all territories with a bonus higher than 90% (corresponding to the territories rarely visited by players).
  • When an anomaly opens, it now has multiple effects on the territory:
    • The loot and XP bonus is increased to 150%.
    • The power boost applied to monsters in the territory is removed.
    • An anomaly now stays open for 2 hours. This duration is fixed and not based on the people who take on the boss in the anomaly.
    • Once the anomaly is closed, a "residual anomaly" remains, extending the 150% bonus in the territory for 30 minutes. At the end of this period, the residual anomaly will end and the territory bonus will drop to 0% again.
  • Dungeons can now be affected by anomalies, in the same way as outside territories.

Bosses

  • The per-character battle limit in an anomaly has been removed. A character can participate in an anomaly boss fight as many times as they want while the anomaly is open.
  • All anomaly bosses are now level 200. They have been rebalanced as well.
  • Some anomaly boss maps have undergone minor improvements.

Uchronic Elixir

  • Three new Uchronic Elixir consumables can be used to increase monsters' power in combat in exchange for a special reward, in a territory with an anomaly or in an anomaly.
    • In a territory, this gives a chance to earn time loops, timeless loops, and anomaly fragments.
    • In an anomaly, this increases the chance of earning time loops, timeless loops, and Babyhemoth relics (only a major uchronic elixir works for Babyhemoth relics).
  • Any old uchronic elixirs in players' possession when the game updates will become minor uchronic elixirs.

Legendary Pets

  • Some of the items needed to get a legendary pet have changed:
    • The Babyhemoth Animal Legend resource (needed to craft a Babyhemoth Reflection) is now called a Babyhemoth Relic. This resource can no longer be obtained from chests in the Well of Infinite Dreams, but it can now be obtained as loot from an anomaly boss.
    • The recipes for Quintessences and the Babyhemoth Reflection have been modified.
    • A new resource, anomaly fragments, has been added to the game. It can be earned as loot from anomaly monsters (chronomorphs), as well as from monsters in a territory affected by an anomaly once you've consumed a uchronic elixir. This resource has been added to the recipes for time crystals, timeless crystals, babyhemoth reflections, nanogrines, and to minor, improved, and major uchronic elixirs.
  • Legendary pets can now only be equipped starting at level 200.
  • It wasn't possible to change a pet's legendary power if the power came from a Bakusharna Quintessence. We've removed this restriction. From now on, all legendary powers can be replaced by giving the pet another infused croquette, regardless of which quintessence the power comes from.
  • Most of the legendary powers have been rebalanced and three new powers have been created:
    • Pukachi Quintessence
      • Bwork Precision:
        • When the bearer starts their turn adjacent to an enemy, they gain 3% ranged damage for 1 turn, otherwise they gain 3% close-combat damage for 1 turn.
        • The legendary power now works even if the character is being carried by a Pandawa.
      • Wabbit Impatience: Hasn't changed.
      • Boowolf Fury: The bearer gains 5% final damage for 2 turns on the death of each ally (excluding summons) that was present at the start of the fight (stackable 2 times).
      • Moskito Thirst: The bearer sacrifices 10% of their final damage to heal themself for 10% of the damage they inflict on enemies during their turn.
      • Trool Brutality: At the start of combat, the bearer sacrifices 1% of final damage per enemy to gain 2% final damage every time one of the enemies that was present at the start of combat (excluding summons) dies (stackable 5 times).
      • Kanig Barbarism: When the bearer finishes off an entity with a weapon, the bearer gains 150 Power for weapons for 2 turns (stackable 2 times).
    • Magikrab Quintessence
      • Gobbette Sweetness: At the start of each turn, the bearer sacrifices 5% of close-combat damage to give 5% close-combat damage to adjacent allies for 1 turn (stackable 1 time).
      • Greedoblop Gluttony: When an ally (excluding summons) present at the start of the fight dies, the bearer is healed for 20% of their health points. The effect can be triggered 3 times max per fight.
      • Bwak Generosity (BUFF): When the bearer ends their turn adjacent to an enemy, the bearer sacrifices 2% ranged damage for the following turn to give 2% ranged damage to their allies for 1 turn (stackable 1 time).
      • Chafer Immortality: When an ally (excluding summons) present at the start of the fight dies, the bearer gains 100% of that ally's level as shield for the rest of the fight. The effect can be triggered 5 times max per fight.
      • Sauroshell Protection: At the start of combat, the bearer gains 75% of each ally's level in shield but loses 5% resistance every time an ally that was present at the start of the fight (excluding summons) dies.
      • Crackler Robustness: At the start of combat, the bearer sacrifices 2% resistance per ally to give 3% resistance to their allies.
      • Treechnid Bark: When the bearer suffers an attempted MP loss, they gain 75% of their level as shield for 1 turn. The effect can be triggered 1 time max per turn.
      • Domoizelle Devotion:
        • Is now a power from the Magikrab Quintessence.
        • At the end of each turn, the bearer transfers 5% of their health points to adjacent allies.
    • Kwaketch'd Quintessence
      • Piwi Velocity: When the bearer is locked, they gain 2 MP for 1 turn (stackable 1 time).
      • Hystritcheria: At the start of combat, the bearer sacrifices 1% of their resistance to gain 6 Dodge and 3 Lock per enemy.
      • Arachnee Web: Hasn't changed.
      • Koalak Savings: When the bearer is locked, they gain 1 AP for 1 turn (stackable 1 time).
      • Kitsou Evasion: Hasn't changed.
      • Kozaru Agitation: When the bearer pushes, attracts or transposes an entity, the bearer gains 5 Lock for 1 turn (stackable 3 times).
    • Bakusharna Quintessence
      • Scurvion Toxicity: Hasn't changed.
      • Pandora's Call: Hasn't changed.
      • Neye Acuity: At start of turn, the bearer gains 3 Range. This bonus is lost if they use at least 1 MP.
      • Spimush Altruism: When the bearer ends their turn adjacent to an ally, the bearer sacrifices 1 AP for the following turn to give 1 AP to adjacent allies for 1 turn (stackable 1 time).
      • Persaport Empathy: The bearer receives a bonus of 10% healing done to allied players and sidekicks during the bearer's turn. The bearer loses this bonus as soon as one of them dies.
      • Tofoone Benevolence: When the bearer ends their turn adjacent to an ally, the bearer sacrifices 1 MP for the following turn to give 1 MP to adjacent allies for 1 turn (stackable 1 time).
      • Dreggon Fetter: Hasn't changed.
    • For improved clarity in combat, new visual effects appear when a legendary power is activated. Each legendary power has its own unique visual effect.
    • Quintessences work differently from before:
      • 27 new resources have been created, corresponding to 27 legendary powers. They're called infused croquettes (e.g. Bwork Infused Croquette, Arachnee Infused Croquette, etc.). This is the resource you have to give a pet to endow it with a legendary power.
      • Quintessences are now a consumable that gives a random infused croquette from the quintessence.

Interface

  • The icon for temporal anomalies visible in the top left of the screen (next to the territory's level) has been changed:
    • The territory's bonus is now shown on the icon itself.
    • The icon's colors are now based on the territory's bonus.
    • The mouseover text has been changed.
    • When you click on the icon, the world map opens with the temporal anomaly interface open.
  • The temporal anomaly interface in the world map has been changed:
    • The icon used to access this interface has been modified for clarity.
    • A new column has been added with the territory's level.

    • You can now select an option to be notified when an anomaly opens. This option is turned off by default.

    • The impact of prospecting will now be based on the level gap between the character(s) and the monster(s).

    • The impact of prospecting and idols has been reduced.

  • A screen about temporal anomalies has been added. It appears when the character hits level 50.
  • The quest "There's a Time for Everything" has been modified. The resource may now be dropped by a monster in a territory that's affected by an anomaly.

  • Certain almanax bonuses have changed.
  • The chat message that says an anomaly is open in the territory has been modified for clarity and precision.

Alterations

Current Situation

Currently, there is a system in the game for giving the player blessings or curses. These status effects can be obtained in various ways, including through dialogue or certain fights or by consuming certain consumables. Here are a few popular examples of in-game blessings/curses: a follower character, the lurgi, Necronyx, potions that change the player's color, changes to the player's appearance or spells in tactical fights (against the Bolgrot, for example), etc. These blessings/curses are shown to the player in the form of a small interface around the edge of the player's screen.

Why Change the System?

With the current system, there is a limited number of blessings and curses possible at the same time. When this maximum is reached, existing blessings/curses are replaced by new ones (and therefore disappear). And the possibilities for effects are limited.

New System

  • The system of blessings/curses is now called Alterations.
  • There is no longer a limit on the number of alterations a character can have at one time.
  • After the update, you will not lose your current blessings and curses. The old system and the new one will coexist. That means all the existing blessings and curses in the game will remain unchanged as part of the old system. They will therefore be replaced if their maximum is reached. However, all the newly created alterations will be part of the new system (and will never max out).
  • The HUD interface has been modified. It will display up to 6 alterations. An alteration's remaining duration will appear below the icon in the HUD interface (in amount of fights, wins, losses, or time).
  • A new detailed interface related to alterations has also been added to the game.
    • This detailed interface is accessible via the gear in the HUD interface:

    • This detailed interface lists your current alterations with the name, a description, and time remaining.
    • You can look up and sort your alterations.
    • You can favorite some of your alterations (up to 3) and display them in the HUD interface. By default, your most recent alterations will be displayed.

Improvements/Changes

Combat

  • The Summons Skill spell now has a variant: Summons' Freedom. Depending on the variant you choose, your summons will be controlled by default or not. You can always cast the spell during combat to change their behavior.
  • The Necronyx spell has been changed:
    • The spell is now learned by speaking to the NPC God Sadida at the end of the quest "Fatal Weapon".
    • It is now a common spell and not a blessing.
    • For players who've already completed the quest, the spell can be learned by speaking to the NPC Sadida Priestess. The blessing is then removed during this dialogue.
  • Summons' and sidekicks' spells are now visible in a new interface outside of the player's turn. These spells can also be selected to be cast from this new interface.
  • Giving up during combat in a Kanojedo (in Amakna, Astrub, the Vigilante Base, or the Dreggon Village) is no longer considered a defeat. You stay on the map and no longer lose energy.
  • The following Sadida summons have been reduced in size for improved clarity: Leafy Tree, Tree of Life, Groute, and Treant.
  • The Weakened state is now visible to all players, not just the one who has it. Also, its time remaining is now shown.
  • 2 new Kolossium maps have been created for 1v1 and 3v3.

Miscellaneous

  • In the guild log, the announcement that appears when a member has been promoted will now include information on whoever promoted the player.
  • A guild will gain access to its guild chest 30 days after being created. First this block will be applied to depositing items in the chest. We will then completely block all access to the chest for guilds that are less than 30 days old.
  • The almanax bonuses in Vulkania for the month of July have been replaced by the almanax for the meridia Bryss.
  • A new consumable can be purchased from the NPC Akademy Canteen Worker in the third room of the Gob Akademy dungeon. This one offers the Gobelishous Illusion alteration, which turns your character into a gobelishous.

Bug Fixes

Quests
  • A new hunting quest called "Too Sinister" is now available in Frigost. This quest is randomly given as part of the hunting quests in the zone as long as the player meets the requirements for it.
  • The quest "The Divine Child" and subsequent quests, previously reserved for people who own the Goultard special edition of the Dofus manga, are now available to anyone. Some of the quest rewards are still reserved for people who own the manga.
  • The following quests have been removed:
    • Suspicion
    • The Great Work
    • Charlie's Agents
  • One Box to Rule Them All: the objective is confirmed and Martalo's Watch acquired in the same line of dialogue. The player is therefore no longer stuck if they close the dialogue menu during the conversation.
  • Existential Question: the Persistent Moskito now has an icon in the timeline and an attack animation.
  • An Eternal Harvest: in step 2, you are twice asked to collect a tiwabbit's soul. This has been changed. Now you have to collect a tiwabbit soul and a tiwabbit wostawvin soul.
  • The mobs no longer appear on the map at [-19, 30] where the NPC Colm O' Ver is found for the quest "Dungeons and Yet More Dungeons".

Achievements

  • The achievement "Bend Without Breaking" related to Damadrya gave half as much XP as the achievements for other bosses of the same level. This has been fixed.

Combat

  • Resistance bonuses and penalties on enemies will correctly update between fights.
  • The Dorigamercy and Dorigexecution challenges are no longer compatible.

  • In the preview for casting a spell, the size of icons is now fixed.
  • The First and Last challenges are now incompatible with the War monster.

Monsters

  • The Destroyers monster family now appears in the bestiary, in the category "Shustuft Crust Monsters".
  • The monsters in temporal anomalies now appear in the bestiary, in the category "Temporal Anomaly".

Items

  • The visual for globally pre-sentient potions for petsmounts is now easier to distinguish from globally pre-sentient potions for mounts.

Maps and Navigation

  • Cosmetics marketplaces and podiums have been separated into two distinct maps so that players who want to buy cosmetics don't get in the way of players who want to use the podium.
  • Fixed various issues with settings in World of Twelve maps (much thanks to Loreillo for all the feedback!).

Treasure Hunts

  • New treasure hunt clues have been added to the world.
  • Fixed certain clues that were incorrectly placed:
    • on harvestable trees
    • hidden by scenery elements
  • The Barbaric challenge is now incompatible in the battle with Vigichest.

Miscellaneous

  • The rules for naming characters are now consistent with those for Temporis pre-registration.
  • The version number is correctly shown in the error window that appears during maintenance.
  • When health steal is displayed in the smithmagic interface, it correctly shows two rows if necessary.
  • There was sometimes a display issue in the marketplace when the player opened multiple resources to see the prices for each batch. This has been fixed.
  • Fixed the chat message shown in the quest "The Allegory of the Tavern" when the player is taking too long to find one of the hints.
  • The sound for the Warrior emote would play multiple times when the animation played. This has been fixed.
  • The button "Rename the mount" and the button to close the mount interface were overlapping. This has been fixed.
  • The error message that appears when you update the guild information too quickly has been changed for clarity.
  • Various spelling mistakes in dialogue and item descriptions have been corrected.
  • Certain Mirabelle Plum Shigekax were not consumable. This has been fixed.

Classes: Balancing and Fixes

ROGUE

Goals of Balancing

  • Allow simultaneous access to all spells in an elemental path (except bombs) to vary gameplay and harness their full potential

CRA

Goals of Balancing

  • Reduce the capacity for damage too easily accessible using Arrow of Judgement
  • Prevent Plaguing Arrow from being spammed at low level
  • Rebalance the elemental paths relative to each other, especially in terms of number of spells
  • Improve the least used variants
  • Ease certain casting conditions that can be burdensome
  • Offer tools for "protection" to this class, while preserving its identity
  • Several new spells will thus be added, operating on the principle of dissuasion/revenge rather than direct protection.
  • A trap will also be joining the spell kit: the Cra is also a hunter, and this trap will certainly give them several nice combos!

ENUTROF

Goals of Balancing

  • Make triggered spells (Placer Mining, Hard Cash, and Firedamp Explosion) less powerful and gratuitous by giving the mechanic more finesse
  • Rethink how spells are organized and acquired to improve progression throughout the game, as well as the potential of each elemental path
  • Prevent Shovel Kiss from being spammed at low level
  • Improve certain utility and elemental spells that have struggled to match their variant
  • Improve the Earth path, which has been a bit inferior to the others
  • In general, put more emphasis on "greed" in gameplay: incentivize seeking out powerful effects, with trade-offs that may be costly for the Enutrof if they're greedy or their luck runs out!
