Multilogging in Tal Kasha PVP

By ZeddY121#3245 - SUBSCRIBER - November 08, 2022, 11:00:49
AnkaTracker
Hey there, I believe it's necessary to address this situation as its killing the newly merged server Tal Kasha.

And the main issue is this - Multilogging characters in Perceptor, Prism and KOTH fights.

We've tried reporting players multiple times to no avail. It seems like Ankama just doesn't care enough about multilogging in these servers compared to mono servers like Ilyzaelle.

A handful of players log 5 characters and begin attacking percs and prisms ALL DAY. It's also incredibly difficult to face one player controlling 5 characters properly as compared to randoms playing each character, obviously making more mistakes. This leads to everyone getting demotivated and not defending any fights anymore. This is leading to a severe downfall of in-game PVP and causes the playerbase to go down.

I really hope with the upcoming changes Ankama takes this seriously and applies strict rules and monitors this to prevent the 5v5 PVP from disappearing entirely. We're tired of seeing multiloggers attack every day and feeling helpless.

First Ankama intervention
Hello everyone,

As Fiora has said, if you notice multi-accounting happening while in game, we highly recommend sending a report to support with the necessary information.

I understand that some of you feel like your reports are not being read. I can assure you that the support team takes time to read through and handle every request made, even though you cannot see their specific actions taken. For confidentiality and security reasons, their methods and processes cannot be shared, and the same thing can be said about sanctions applied to accounts or other account information. So while you might think nothing is being done, it doesn't mean that support is not doing anything.

We also take this opportunity to remind you that "naming and shaming" is not allowed on this forum.

As said above, if you witness multi-accounting happening in game during your perceptors or prisms fights, take a screenshot with a /whois command visible for all the concerned accounts and send it to support.

We apologize for the inconvenience in the meantime and wish you a good day.

This is Ankama's fault. Multilog exists since they were forbidden in AvA (about 2014) and Ankama in almost 10 years it's impossible not being able to handle that, as well as the bots who farm nuggets, autoclicks/scripts and several others problems that affect the whole system of AvA.

Because of this negligence people were encouraged to do the same to try being equal as others, and this leads to nowadays having lots more of each problem, and basically ends up again in Ankama's fault.

Hope the new rework of AvA they think more about limits for each case, for example:
-A restriction of time when joining a guild/alliance
-Limit or cooldown when recycling
-An efficient support Ankama.

Same shit, different day, ankama announced that with the servers merge it will be cheaper to maintain and moderate the new merged servers rather than managing and maintaining 19 of them
Yet results is the same

You either do something about these multiloggers or just allow it, so we are all could be equal, anyways, none really care about what they are killing or abusing within the game, it's all matter of notification spam, maybe put little bit of the thousands of euros you earn a day from our subscriptions or the cosmetics we buy into coulpe of moderators to solve the issue that demotivates lot of people from enjoying some game content

I didn't post this to create a debate between who multilogs more. I never pointed any fingers at any specific alliance as I'm sure every alliance has their fair share of multiloggers.

If ANY player multilogs from whichever alliance , they need to be penalized so newer players can also get into PVP and the server feels fair and active.  So please avoid creating unnecessary drama.

And as for myself personally, I've never done it and won't ever do it as it ruins the essence of the game for me. So please don't post random screenshots of my characters just existing and insinuate multilog without any proof.

I hope the moderators take a look at this and figure out steps to reduce multiloggers overall from all alliances.

If none of these players have been banned, it's because they don't go multilogger, don't you think?

I'm sure most active PVP'ers know thats not the case. Everyone knows multiloggers from different alliances. It's like me saying "If Ankama doesn't ban the bots, it means bots don't exist"

No, Ankama either doesn't care enough or doesn't have enough resources to deal with this issue. But they need to take a serious look into this.

Illegal multiaccounting is not handled by the volunteer moderator team. This issue is solely handled by Ankama Support. You are welcome to offer feedback on the issue in general, but please keep this in mind as well.

Comments that were left are more than civil and should open your eyes in order to correspond to multiloggers and kamas sellers. Instead of removing people's posts you should sanction multiloggers and ones selling kamas for living, these people who are leaving comments below this thread and acting innocent and frustrated. Unsure if you are purposely being blind in order not to do your job how it's supposed to be done or what's going on.

As you've been asked to do your job on this thread you might as well do it, but I would highly recommend checking posts you deleted so you know where to start from. Good day.

Hello there,

Sorry if this was not clear in my original message, but illegal multiaccounting is not handled by the volunteer moderator team. This issue is solely handled by Ankama Support.

I am a member of the volunteer moderator team. Our team is not at all responsible for enforcing the rules regarding multiaccounting. This is solely the domain of Ankama Support. All reports on this issue go through them, full stop.

Among my actual responsibilities, though, are forum moderation and removing posts that run afoul of the rules. If you have a disagreement about a moderation decision, my Ankabox is open.

On the other hand I am quite sure your job is to report ToS breakers. Such as sellers of Ankama's products, according to written ToS at least. You are the one that's supposed to send reports to Support team, so they can later proceed your information and sanction these people.

Unsure if you have a personal relationship with people from this guild, or any other EN MOD, but I certainly do remember how EN MODs forcibly name changed another guild for advantage of this one. On top of that person who is leading that guild now, one that you've given a name of another guild, is selling Ankama's products for real money or other products. How's it possible that no actions were taken regarding this matter? Unless this is also supposed to be a job of Support team itself.

My next question in that case would be: What's the point of having you (MOD in general) at 1st place? To harass members from another guild, forcibly name change their guild name with the one you personally prefer? Sadly, this is not a post where we should be discussing this, but I really do wanna hear about your obligations as a MOD, I'm pretty sure we all do at this point.

To be completely frank with you, the specific issue you're raising is entirely outside of my scope as a volunteer moderator. Of the limited actions we are able to take, they are fully validated by Ankama to the point that we are not in a position to issue final decisions. Your first two sentences in this post demonstrate your understanding of this fact. I understand the inclination to pin every issue impacting the game to the moderation team, simply by virtue of the title we use. I've been a moderator since 2010 so I understand my additional role as chief scapegoat for everything.

With regards to our responsibilities, I hate to just link long texts in response but I don't want to reinvent the wheel. And Logan, the game's Producer, actually wrote a lot about moderation with regards to bots. I'll link the basic "what is a moderator" page and Logan's text below.

Info page: https://www.dofus.com/en/mmorpg/community/moderators
More info, which yes I do need to update at some point and get rid of that broken image, but for the purposes of your question there is good detail here: https://www.dofus.com/en/forum/1151-general-problems-solutions/106647-mod-team-mod-faq?poid=834412
Logan's post: https://www.dofus.com/en/forum/1-log-book/340901-official-communication-regarding-bots

If you have any follow up questions, let me know. I know that this is a very active time for our community, and that there are a lot of outstanding misgivings that folks are looking for answers to. I'm happy to do what I can to help provide more context for what happens and why whenever I can, like I was doing during the Tal Kasha opening days, and during all sorts of other tumultuous times where a lot of questions need answering and points need clarifying smile

Well this is the problem also that we are currently witnessing on Tal Kasha unfortunately.

I do totally understand that you (volunteer moderators) aren't the ones banning people for breaking the ToS, and mainly handle forums and sometimes mute people in-game and such, and we respect you for doing so. But those that do break ToS (in this case Multiaccounting in AvA), have set up systems to not be detected as easily. What we need is someone out on the field, actually witnessing it happening in real time, to be able to effectively catch them.

I remember us two having discussions regarding Bots earlier this summer, and how it's not possible for moderators and Ankama team to catch every single bot. But in this case, since there's just a handful of people breaking ToS, and they don't grow on trees (luckily laugh), it shouldn't be too big of a task to track them for a while. I understand that it's time removed from something else, that probably also is important. But the players breaking ToS by mutliaccounting in AvA (hitting perceptors, prisms and showing up in KOTH's) do affect hundreds of players. Spending a few days on tracking, to make playing experience for hundreds of players much better, is in my ears a good investment of time. How it's then done, by you moderators, or the Ankama Support team, that doesn't matter... as long as something is done about it, and soon. happy
