Please Update the Linux launcher to use Proton instead of/or Wine. [Linux, Steam OS, Steam Deck]

Hello,

I've been trying to get Dofus to work on the Steam Deck and it does not come with Wine installed. There is a new translation layer that is faster and better than Wine called Proton. I've tested it and it does work if you trick the OS into thinking Proton is Wine but that's with the script below.
https://gist.github.com/remi-dupre/e5340ca852ae974fdd5509d545b0b4ed#file-steam-ankama-launcher-sh.

It would be nice to have a native solution to this problem so that players don't have to jump through as many hoops to play on Linux/steam deck/steam os.

Alternatively, if we were able to launch the Dofus.exe and log in with that, it would make adding the non-steam game and using Proton much easier. I saw some users were able to make the dofus.exe show the login screen but I have not been able to find a command line option for this.

Thank you for replying. I was trying to message you about how you got the Dofus.exe login working. But that thread was locked or monitored posts.

That's okay. The "linux" client for dofus is just the MS client with a translation layer.

I was wondering how you got the dofus.exe to do what you posted in this post. https://www.dofus.com/en/forum/2-general-discussion/339821-end-login-password

This would make translating and using the dofus.exe in Linux much easier than dealing with translating the launcher.

The picture with all the colored circles? My launcher has always been like that since they added the capability to add multiple accounts  I learned just by playing around and clicking on all the tabs to be honest, didnt do anything to the actual game files.
Only thing I could suggest is to delete everything -even crumb files and then reinstall from direct downloaded .exe's from the official Dofus page.  I started using the Launcher when it was released and never went back, I dont touch anything in the files and made sure everything come direct from official sources and keep everything up to date.

We'll have to wait for Ankama to update the settings for the Linux client then, Thank you for the info.

yes, PLEASE. this should be baked into the Linux version of the game. getting Dofus 2.x up and running on the Steam Deck is impossible without the provided script from Github, and imo it's entirely unacceptable we have to rely on an indie dev to provide a solution for running this game on Linux.

contact Support and recommend this. basically, the Linux version is completely broken without this fix (at least on the Steam Deck). I've already contacted Support and they claim they cannot verify how safe that script is due to not having a Steam Deck................ they clearly do not care about supporting the Linux version.

also, regarding launching the .exe and being able to login independently of the Launcher; that is simply no longer possible after a recent change to the Launcher. you can no longer directly launch the .exe and login without the Launcher. which is especially unfortunate because running the .exe on Linux does open the game as expected (as opposed to opening via the Launcher, which does absolutely nothing) but you get the error message stating you have to launch the game via the Launcher.

Sorry for the dumb question, where do you put this script?
