I don't see how it is used for scams...??!!
Quite the contrary, I'd dare to say!

I don't see how it is used for scams...??!!
Quite the contrary, I'd dare to say!
Example:
- - during a regular "exchange" players vs player, ig, one "fast and quick and lucky enough" can add an item, take an item, add or take some figure/s from the total amount of kamas;
- - when one puts an item on merch mode, it is S-A-F-E that s/he'd get the requested amount, not a kama less, not a kama more.
Also, merch mode is cheaper than markets, plus, if one is looking for big/ medium amounts of resources, or specific gear, there is less stress coming from the "1 kama less, price cutters".
It is a pity, if this decision is final, aka, to remove merch mode from game for good...

Sadly, this game is going further and further away from what it was 10 y + ago, when I started playing...
Merch mode was avoiding too much tax. 90 million items that would normally be taxed 9 million are instead taxed a fraction of that amount.
Seeing all the dofuses in the market also makes it apparent how many are in the market, as well as the cheapest one. People are viciously undercutting each other which is why Ochre has gone done 25-30million. Ochre honestly has been overpriced for the longest time, as if you did the quest months ago, it'd only cost you 40-50million. Not 90+ million. The people selling for 90 million were those who bought it for 90 million years ago, expecting it to sell for the same price.
Another scummy tactic people did on merchant mode was putting items for 200,000,000 that are not worth that amount. This is so no one can buy out the spot and take it. People do it on dofus retro all the time, 10 bucket of water for 1 million each. And they can do this because 1 million is barely taxed when using merchant mode.
Merchant mode was too forgiving, with less tax and auto sell items, which discouraged the use of the regular market. If you want the luxury of passively selling items, you should be taxed more.
Having all the items in the game at the marketplaces makes it so it's easier to find specific gear you need now. Instead of the off chance a 4% fire res item is being sold in merchant mode on a map you are unaware of, it is now being sold on the market.
Games need to change and adapt to player needs, but also players tactics, as a lot of players end up gaming the system which makes the game worse.
Yet, merch mode aint unsafe and to be prone for scammers' use, as said in main post:
"Merchant mode is mainly used for nefarious purposes (selling slots, selling bot loot, scams, etc.)."
Games need to change to adapt to new players, but also have to keep something from the original form/s during the way, to keep nostalgic and/ or veteran players keep playing/ paying/ subscribing/ buying stuff, etc.
Speaking of game changes, I so much wish some of the dungeons or areas have not been re(rererere...)vamped, but instead, just extend area/s and/ or map/s with new families/ territories/ area/ etc; so many memories keep me tied still to this game, dating over 10 years back...
Hummm... How about keeping merch mode, for similar, or double the tax that from markets? It was a fun way, to sell stuff T-T Old relic of ollldddd Dofus...
