Besides the choice of challenges, we've also made several other modifications:
  • Changes to how challenges appear so that they're more targeted and provide a better fit for different situations (team comp, players' level or strength relative to the monsters appearing in the fight). For example, Scanty and Blitzkrieg won't appear below a certain level to ensure that players have an adequate number of spells; Zombie won't necessarily appear on maps that are overly large; etc. <<<<< for level of player/s of team, what if one player is with alts/ guidlies/ friends, of lower or higher level, would that obliterate Scanty or Blitz, even if higher member/s of group are most likely to be able to do it? and why Zombie wouldn't appear on large maps? they're mobs that can lock an average character all the way past Atlantic or Pacific Ocean, regardless of huge area available to move;
  • You will no longer be able to get experience AND loot bonuses at the same time when you successfully complete a challenge. A button next to each challenge will allow you to individually choose which reward the given challenge will offer (experience or loot). <<< now, this one, I do NOT like; it will only artificially increase prices, on all resources and equipments, etc, cuz low lev/ med lev players, most of them, will pick xp over lot; then we'll have a huge of med/ high lev with no resources nor kamas available to craft or to afford their current level's gear; it also impacts med lev/ HL players, many having mounts to raise or guilds to level up, while raising professions or crafting; even irl, one gets "lot" of some sort (salary, or payment, or gratitude, or his/her crops, etc) and experience from doing that action; I do want to continue to level up my guild AND my professions, it would be sad and frustrating to have to pick one of the two, and might, wait, not "it might", it will surely marshmallow-off lots of players; and next "leeech system" will be: leech for kamas + drops, so new/ low/ med lev players will end up advancing in their levels, but with no kamas nor drops not possibility to sell said drops, to buy better gear; I see soar dofus days about to come;
  • Balancing of bonus values to more accurately reflect the difficulty of each challenge, as well as the new drop formula.
  • Challenge mechanics are also included in these changes: we'll be making modifications to some, getting rid of others, and even creating some new ones! For example: <<< getting rid of some? which? and why? 
    • Favouritism: If you heal a character, you won't be able to heal any other characters for the whole duration of the fight. <<< if I'd be fighting piwis, then okay hurray may the lot in my bank lay! but for dungs after a certain lev ... cmon ... is same thing as martyr, just a bit desguised ... you just heal your "marthyr" and voila, 2 challs don', and the pot is won!
    • Conqueror: When a character kills an opponent, they must finish their turn on the cell previously occupied by the opponent.
    • Martyr: The designated character is the only one who can take damage for the whole duration of the fight. If that character dies, the team fails the challenge. <<< that makes it leech with sacs and pandas OP in the next weeks/ months post-new-update, lol; with this chal; and eventually combined with "favoritism";
    • Doom: All opponents must be finished off during the same overall turn. <<< again, easier said than done, if piwis, one just gets them to 1 hp, then leek pies them all in a turn; but at HL dungeons, keeping all mobs alive, and killable in same turn ... that might somehow an issue ...

Uh, sorry but the biggest issue with crafting is that getting materials to level up the crafting profession to keep up with your own level is almost impossible unless you spend a lot of time and money on the Market Boards. Something as simple as leveling Miner to lv 20 takes forever because there just isn't enough nodes of both wood and metal. And then it becomes harder to get higher level metals because even if the nodes are there you can't harvest, and then your equip requires you to have them...
It all just snowballs into making progression all about getting Kamas and straight off buying stuff.

I am concerned that without melee idols being op, class diversity will again shift to range. as why bother to fight close combat, when you can shoot? but we will see. I hope idols get comped as my idols cost around 10mk total, I am by no means rich it would be losing around 1/6th of my net worth in game Q.Q (as in we get the resources back or something)

People using idols one one shot things while being ranged, which just made the requirements for idol challenges high typically. Look at Nidas leech. 

There are plenty of bosses where you need to stay mid/close range to actually accomplish the dungeon. Kabaal, impert challenge at king paper guy, 

The team at Ankama can easily just make more mechanics that punish ranged such as reflect damage if you hit from a range or range immune monsters.

Removal of Idol system means another dofus slot? Since the "open idol collection" button is taking away the potential of a 7th dofus slot or 6th if you make the first slot "prysmaradite only"

Prys are awful personally. I don't really use them but they seem to be a huge gate for PvP. Wouldn't surprise me if they dealt with them eventually as well.

Actually, I really like this. I think it will bring freshness to the game. It will encourage players to replay dungeons and the economy to not get broken so fast

Considering anyone who played from 2005 - 2015 didnt have the bonuses of Idols, its not really that hard to revert back to pre-Idol game-play. 
The thing I miss the most was the stars on monster mobs.

Well, as someone who spend a lot of time getting idol achievements as a solo player, I feel really sad about the lost progress. I was already in a bit of a down time game wise, and this is really pushing me away from the game at the moment.

Hello!

As written in the recent Beta changelog:
  • Dungeon quests requiring players to defeat a dungeon keep with a certain minimum idol score have been removed. The ornaments unlocked via these achievements will be retained, provided that the achievement was earned before the update.
  • Ornaments linked to the number of achievement points will be retained even if the player no longer has the required number of achievement points.
  • For each dungeon in the game, a new achievement has been added that requires the player to complete a specific challenge.

You will therefore keep the ornaments gained through achievements points linked to the idol system. I hope this clarifies this part a little bit.

The exchange shop sells candy's only. How about adding for example Sidekicks, Cosmetics, Emotions, Pets, Mounts, Petsfood etc? Similar to the Kolosseum, Alliance temple or Almanax shop?

Sidekicks is a poor option as it defeats the purpose of earning them for achievements. Emotes? What type? New ones? Old ones?

Sidekicks is a poor option as it defeats the purpose of earning them for achievements. Emotes? What type? New ones? Old ones?

Have you delved into the new content with the sidekicks? Besides the sidekicks players earn with the achievements, a bunch of new ones can be bought from NPC with gathering resources, kolossokens, nuggets, almokens etc. Adding some of those or new ones in the shop could give the new feature a headstart. I believe this could be a great way to compensate players for the effort that went into crafting/collecting the idols without breaking the game economy.

I love this. The idol system has always seemed unnatural to me and results in abuse of synergies for massive gains.

On the subject of challenges, can we talk about specific idiosyncrasies? The "Clean Hands" challenge and definition of "indirect damage" seems to me arbitrary in some cases. For example, I think of Sadida as pretty indirect. The damage done by the Voodoo Curse spell when someone takes AP/MP seems indirect, but it will fail the challenge. For Sram, the Chakra Concentration spell will fail the challenge, and I think it should not.

I hope the challenges when fighting against mobs can also be translated into Italian language. Currently I see them in English, and I don't understand them.

While it's nice I got to keep the ornament I had, I went from being 500 points out of 20k to being over 4k off. Thats still very demotivating.
