Update 1.41: Improvements to ceremonial items

AnkaTracker Announcements

Update 1.41, in which the bravest among you can reunite the Primordial Dofus, is fast approaching. In this post we want to provide more details about one of the many features planned: improvements to ceremonial items!

An initial improvement to the mimisymbic system was implemented in Update 1.36.6 back in November 2021. For that, we created a new "ceremonial item" category, which allowed you to associate a ceremonial item with a base item so its appearance could be changed with a mimisymbic, all without permanently losing the mimisymbic and ceremonial item.

With Update 1.41, we are further improving the system: From Wednesday, September 20, 2023, using a mimisymbic to apply the appearance of a ceremonial item to a base item will no longer be required! Let's look at this in more detail.

New ceremonial item functionality

Associating the appearance of a ceremonial item with a base item

To associate a ceremonial item with a base item so that the latter inherits the appearance of the ceremonial item, you just need to:

  • Drag and drop the ceremonial item from your inventory onto a base item you have equipped.
  • Double click the ceremonial item from your inventory to directly associate it with the corresponding base item equipped.

Note that if you associate a ceremonial item with a base item via a mimisymbic, the mimisymbic will not be consumed, and the ceremonial item will be correctly associated with the base item.

In addition, if a ceremonial item grants a title or aura, like a trophy shield, it will be transferred to the base item; except if the base item already has one, as is the case with the Vampyre Mask.

Dissociating a ceremonial item from a base item

To dissociate a ceremonial item from a base item, you can:

  • Right click on the item in your in your inventory, then select the option "Dissociate ceremonial item". The ceremonial item will be returned to your inventory, and the base item will revert to its original appearance.
  • Click the following icon:

If the appearance is not granted by a ceremonial item but rather by using a mimisymbic and a classic item, you will see a confirmation pop-up to avoid losing the mimisymbic and item that granted its appearance.

A new retroactive feature!

This new feature will be retroactive: All ceremonial items that you own can be used in the manner described above.

Furthermore, when Update 1.41 goes live, all mimisymbics used to associate a ceremonial item with a base item will be returned to the inventory or bank, depending on where the item was located.
