Nice thread, I'd love to see more opinions on what makes a good RPer. =)

All right, here's a place to post tips on how to RP. I've got some to start us off.
After posting a bio, RP in that post! I can't tell you how many people I've seen post bios and nothing else for the rest of the thread they joined.
Correct spelling/grammar/capitalization is appreciated.
Feel free to post your own!

But just to clarify for those who don't know, God Modding is essentially turing your character into a god. You have inhuman powers, and there is no clear cost for using these powers. Meaning, you can shoot fireballs and yet even after shooting 1000 fireballs you still haven't broken a sweat. Even in Dofus using spells cost AP to use. Which is why it's important to have a checks and balance system for your powers. It's ok to use a spell every one in a while, but every action has an equal and opposite reaction.
And, just to piggyback once more on Travis's post, remember to keep your emotions different from your characters. Even thought your character might be mad at another character in the storyline, don't get mad at the poster for playing his part.
Nice job though Travis. =)
DON'T BE IMMORTAL! Dying isn't horrible, after all its just an RP.

also, if you want to quit a thread, make your char die in a way that you want, without insulting another cchar.(most times this is in a big battle where your char may possibily die for the good of others)
I thought a thread was dead if it hadn't been posted in for over a month. AWITD2 hadn't been posted in for just a bit over a week, and ended up on the second page. If it was dead, it's now sprung miraculously back to life.
AHHH! Zombie role-play alert!
Back on topic (and away from any zombies): Speling, grammar + punct!uat, ion. One of the things that can really ruin an otherwise good post. Punctuation is the most important. Who want's to, read a sentence. like thi's?
As for death, we should really decide on what makes a thread 'dead' or not.
(ooc -text-)
or if someone hasn't posted in it in at least a week. It may not be dead but let it sit and see if anyone else posted.

Now, as for death, I think it's dead if the players have abandoned it, it hasn't been posted in for over two weeks, and/or we all miraculously die.
Anyways yeh, also try to let people join in. If your holding auditions for someone and they didnt hear about it, be a little leniant. Not everyone always has times to check the forums, and it sucks if they miss out on a great thread because they weren't there for tryouts
-COUGH-
Lol

@Travis, of course you can join, we need more people anyway.
It is INSANELY irritating when someone doesn't post properly because they don't know what's going on.
On the other hand... How a new character who just arrived to your location can know all what have happened?
I'd say every RP needs a good set up, and good additional OOC thread with the plot, rules, sign up, etc. But it's not really a problem of a player, GM needs to organise it beforehand.
I believe what he meant was to avoid posting things that contradict the events occurring within the thread because you didn't read through what happened recently.
