Any way of getting my accounts back?
By March 07, 2013, 00:22:34I had many accounts I used to play a few years ago. I played them on and off from time to time. Since they had the intrusion problem back in 2011, I haven't been able to recover my accounts. I would have tried to recover my passwords back then but I wasn't playing Dofus at the time. I sent an e-mail to support last week saying that I don't remember the e-mail addresses used for my accounts since it was so many years ago. I even sent in my ID to prove I was the owner of the accounts. They did reply back saying that I had to have the exact date of creation and the e-mail addresses associated with my accounts. Obviously I don't have his information anymore. I don't think it is fair that I was a paying customer for many years and because of a problem on their end I have to suffer the consequences. I worked very hard on my accounts and I would really love to have them back so I can return to Dofus.
If there is any other way I could get help I would appreciate it. Right now I'm not sure what I can/should do at this point.

I came back after years of playing..
To find :
My main feca account banned - no reason given
My main osa account (married to feca) - no reason given
and 4 accounts that "do to security reasons have been reset and sent to e-mail"
As I when I was back then also went threw a hacking problem :/ those e-mails are all gone
I remade my feca and leveled it but that's 2 banned accounts that even when I send in a ticket never get a reasoning behind the ban.
and i have no idea what to do for the other 4 accounts :/
I know their user, previous passwords, secret answer :/
I'm in the process of hopefully using a phone that I used back then :/ (3 years old now) and possible finding it a charger and praying to who ever.. that the cell phone was linked to the accounts.. I wish you luck :/ and if you find a solution let me know please
Think of this from another angle: Lets say you had not used your account for a year, and somebody else wanted to steal you account, but didn't know what email was used or even what year the account was created. A scammer could have gleamed your contact information and sent in a fake ID to "prove" they are the rightful owners. I would think that you would be furious with Ankama if they gave control over your account to somebody else.
From what you are saying, you have no way of proving that you created those accounts. Your best bet may be to just keep thinking about your past email addresses, or ask people you used to email if they still have messages from you.
I know that not being able to access an account can be frustrating, as I have had similar issues before. Good luck.
And realistically how is someone supposed to remember the exact date they made their account? That is just ridiculous. I don't think it's fair I should have to start all over again when I wasn't in the wrong.
Why not filter your email? Almost every email provider has a way to filter only emails with certain text in them - so just set your email to send all messages with the subject "DOFUS - Your subscription is about to expire" to your trash folder and you'll never see another one again.
Edit: by the way, I don't think it's actually against the rules to block Ankama's email address, you just won't be able to do stuff like get Shield messages or password resets. Also, you find the rules of the site in a few places - the Terms and Conditions are in a small link at the bottom of the main page.
When you wrote up that post, a summary of the main forum rules were written directly to the right of the text box (as they are every time you write up any posts on this forum).
Furthermore, in that same sidebar, the word "rules" in the sentence "This forum is governed by rules" is clickable, leading to an expanded version of the forum rules on the Dofus website.
An even more expanded version of the forum rules are written in the very first topic pinned at the top of the very first section of the forums (Log Book). The topic is called "Forum Rules", in case you weren't sure.
If you mean the overall Dofus rules, then that's the Terms and Conditions of Use, which is at the bottom of every single page on the entire site, including this one you're reading right now. Scroll down to the bottom and you'll see the link for yourself.
Are those logical enough directions?
Nobody asked for Ankama to be hacked. But they were, and as a result all account login information was potentially compromised. If they did not reset the passwords, your account may have been simply stolen rather than just not accessible. Ankama acted swiftly to reduce/prevent problems by resetting the passwords, and then implementing Ankama Shield. Whereas most companies would simply ask people to reset their own passwords voluntarily, Ankama actually did the smart thing and forced it, then they expended their time and money to create Ankama Shield to try to prevent access to accounts from unauthorized users in the event that they are hacked again (or if they are simply phished, which is far more common). Compared to other companies with this situation, Ankama went above and beyond to protect their clients' security.
You are not being punished. Ankama just has no way of distinguishing you from any scammer trying to steal an account (of which there are many), as you do not have the necessary identifying materials. I know this can be a very frustrating experience, but put yourself in the shoes of an Ankama employee trying to keep accounts safe. Would you give out account information to somebody whose proof is only their word that the account belongs to them? No, you wouldn't.
I see no reason why they would ask you for the date of account creation, as their support website states that the only information needed to reset a password is the email used as well as your security question. It is not the fault of Ankama that you do not know your own information, and not allowing somebody to access the account without knowing the email used is very fair to the account itself.
Your best bet is to brainstorm and ask friends who you may have messaged to see if you can locate the name of the email account.
If not, you may need to create a new account if you wish to continue playing. Take this as a learning experience that you need to keep notes for yourself.
And remember this is just a video game, not a bank account.
No security measure is fool proof, which is why I stated in my comment that the Ankama Shield is designed "to try to prevent [unauthorized] access..." no that it would infallibly work.
My comments are simply putting the events in perspective, since I understand how emotionally attached we as people can become to things we invest a lot of time into. I don't see why you nitpicked the most minor aspects of my comments, for no apparent gain or contribution.

I have a strong need for it, once in a lifetime normally want to play the game.

Probably your computer is infected by a keylogger or even worse. I advise you to get yourself a good malware scanner and scan your entire system very thoroughly. Neither Ankama nor any forum user can do this for you, you must do this yourself. After scanning and clearing your computer you should change all of your email passwords, then all your other passwords, please use strong and secure passwords and do not use the same password for two different accounts. Again, nobody else can do this for you, you must do this yourself.
