Number of classes in your team?

By bowtomedude#5562 January 09, 2014, 19:59:14
So with the new sidekicks, dungeon loot-system, and other implements I was just curious what the number of people in a team is now ideal for this game. Thanks

I can do 90% of the content with just four real characters, and my failed attempts at some dungeons with just four are probably more to do with my mediocre skills than it being actually impossible.

Sidekicks are mostly useless for endgame content because they just add an extra monster but they aren't as powerful as a real character.

I play with a 3 man team, where I ocassionaly let go of 1 character

My team excists out of a 177 panda/161 enu/130 eni (at the moment of typing) although it seems due to my playstyle I barely need the eni for anything else then additional AP (which in 75% of cases I don't even use) so I've decided to let the eni go and make a wisdom cra (to complete my gameply)

in this team, when my computer is laggy or i feel like a 3th window is too much to handle, or just am doing stuff with guildies/friends, I just leave out the eni (will be cra) and am very fine by myself with just these 2 characters. Although I barely do Frigost monsters, so when you go higher up to frigost (i cannot go anywhere higher then Obsi monsters), you might want to have a 4th character, but I can't speak about that just yet.

The reason I multilog is basicly not because of the new dungeon system or sidekicks or whatever, but more because of the lack of social people on Rosal.
As a solo panda of my level, it's almost impossible to do any fun/good mobs, while the additional character(s) realy help a lot, be it for more damage output or more versability to the game.

in my opinion, a 2~3 man team is more then enough if you choose your classes smart, and adjust your gameplay alike

From my experience, I have played 4 man teams, 6 man teams, solo chars, 8 man teams and pretty much subbed out/in chars for any other combination in between. I like playing with 4, but I might just try three and build up to it. Thanks for your advice smile

mind if I ask but I've always wondered..

how do people even log 8 chars at the same time? do they use multiple screens?

edit: also, If you set up your team just so that you can let go of 1 char if needed realy improves gameplay, as you can still have a viable team for duo achievements, or for group xp hunts or in the worst case. if you can't afford to sub 3 chars for whatever reason, drop one and play on the other 2 untill you can sub all three your chars again, this way you can still enjoy the game without having to suffer from harder fights or whatever is out there

I just used "Command + Tab" (I think the PC equivalent is "Ctrl + Tab") and flipped through all 8 chars pretty quickly on 1 screen. It took a little getting used to, but when I was caffeined up I could run frig dungeons with absolute perfection.

I've tried that but the problem is in Mac OS X it doesn't actually show the character name, just "Dofus" so its hard to know what character you are about to switch to, and that gets super annoying. I ended up coding a little helper program that sits there on the side of my desktop and I can click a character name to bring a specific Dofus window up to the top and focus it.

The only problem is I have to recompile it whenever my team changes init order so that kind of sucks hahaha:
