You may have noticed that there's been a few changes in the class forums. I've been watching the new class forums since they've been created, and it's clear that a lot of the same questions are being asked again and again. In light of this situation, I've pinned some user-written class guides. I've also given the authors of those guides their own special signatures that point to their guides.
If you would like to write a guide for your class and have it considered for the sticky list, please post your guide in the appropriate class forum, then post a link here. Or, you can write a general guide for all classes and post it to this forum.
We're looking for high-quality guides that are well-organized, factual and easy to read. If a guide doesn't have any organization, capitalization, punctuation, or proper spelling, it won't be considered.
Here's a few more tips for writing a sticky-worthy guide.
Try to make good use of the forum's formatting tools and include links to equipment or sets when you mention them to make it easy to follow up on information.
Check your work, support your claims with facts, ask for help and suggestions, and never post blatantly false information.
Don't talk down to the reader, write in a friendly and helpful tone - or at least a neutral tone if friendly isn't your style.
Finally, read the guides that have already been pinned for ideas about how to organize your work.
And a few things to avoid.
Don't post guides that aren't yours.
Don't copy guides directly out of the wiki
Don't break any of our normal forum rules while writing your guide.
I'll be observing how the guides do for a short time to see how other players react and how the author handles themselves before making a final decision. If you're reading this, but you're not sure you can write a guide on your own, you can help by posting constructive suggestions and giving feedback on guides that have already been submitted.
I think the issue with detailed forum guides, and really any structured guide for any MMORPG, is that they are prone to becoming out-dated as soon as a class-re-balance occurs. Obviously some things remain true, but it does generally put a feather of doubt up the reader's nose. The writer really has to keep rechecking and updating in order to still be correct.
It's a fair point, Goldfish, and if guides do become totally outdated and the authors don't keep them up-to-date, then they may be un-stuck at some point.
1. You are looking for General guides that will help all classes, General class guides for specific classes, and Guides for a specific class/build? Or... ?
2. Are these supposed to be guides for beginners or should they go into epic levels?
3. The guides should include equipment suggestions, places to level, and stat point/spell point recommendations?
4. The guides should originally be posted in the appropriate class forum and linked here?
This is the best I understood, but I would like verification, and know that there are some others who are not sure exactly what is being requested.
The recognition for the effort put into my guide is certainly appreciated, Izmar. I'll do my best to keep it updated, and for that matter, complete it. Happy writing, fellow guide writers!
Thanks Arxyis! Aspiring guide-writers, click the button in Arxyis' signature to see an example of what I would consider to be a truly excellent class guide. It was Arxyis' work that confirmed my decision to start this call for more guides!
Thank you Izmar very much for the sticky! Means a lot to me . I guess now I will finally have to update it a bit.
I can also provide guides for: Iop (str), Eni (int), Enu (I can basically cover all elements as I have been all), Sac (agi), Panda (cha/support), possibly some other classes as well
From level 1 to 200 of course. This will take a bit of time as I will make them as good as I possibly can, but seeing as I have pneumonia and I'm on leave from school due to that I guess I could take a small break from levelling my prot pala in WoW .
on a related question for this, is there a bbcode for placemarks? ie like the wikia has in the table of contents. this would allow people to quickly jump to areas that are more relevant if the guide is a long and detailed one.

Haha i like this whole organized thing as people ask All the time about help and what to do. I don't min d giving feedback, but this should help a lot too.
Just wanted to ask, you do know you spelled guide "Quide" in the title, right?
Yeah for some reason they don't let you change your topic title on the officials, asking a moderator would be best I think.
