problems learning the handyman profession in retro Dofus

Hi, so I have been having this problem of not being able to learn the actual handyman profession in the retro game. I have been to the Bonta handyman workshop and talked to the npc there and it says to bring 20 ash planks and 15 maple planks. I got 20 ash planks and 15 maple planks and when I would click learn the profession, the same page would come up with the npc saying I needed the planks. I bought the handyman hammer and it still won't let me learn it. 

Is there something I am missing? what do I do to learn the handyman proffession?
