Expand Friend List

By -DragonMusic- March 24, 2013, 20:38:38

As the title says, expand the friend list from 100 for P2P to 200 ? It's pretty do-able, and I don't think 100 more will do much harm.

100 friends more is not over powered as well, and it grants the ability to add more people when your list is full and can't delete someone.

F2P remain 50.
P2P will become 200.

It's extremely overpowered, matter of fact, i'm pretty sure if this get implented into the game, there will be 100 threads requesting for a nerf.

Lol.

Personally I don't know why there is a limit on friends because it doesn't affect the game much at all. It's just a way to remember people you met and enjoyed meeting.

We will never understand Ankamalogic. Perhaps just remove the limit at all for P2P on the amount of friends you can add.

There is a reason for them to limit it, database performance overhead and size, a larger list does not come "free" from those standpoints.
Ankama is unlikely to do this as it is both an issue of those things mentioned that they can blame and really would require several minutes of work to implement, maybe even more depending on how their database is set up.

And also, friends?
You are not supposed to have any, you are supposed to kill people all day long remember?
It's not about playing with people anymore, you must play against them and as such there is no need for a friends list.
There isn't much need to have an enemy list either, since everyone should be your enemy, always!
So do not request changes to the friends list, it might very well be removed to make the game even more "fun, interesting and tactical".
Unless there can be a way to reduce the utility for the PvM rabble and be more useful for the glorious PvP people, obviously.

Actually I wouldn't surprised if Ankama did this at all.

Perhaps we'll even get a limit on the chat because it will make pvp more tactical if you can't talk. 1 phrase per turn, depending on the amount of words.

1 Word, 4 phrases per turn.
2 Words, 3 phrases per turn.
3 Words, 2 phrases per turn.
4+ Words, 1 phrase per turn.

Just for the sake of PvP of course, PvM no longer matters.

Hi, I am a little upset about the small friends list we are given. 100 people is not a lot when you take in accordance the time this game has been out. I am proposing dofus should either add a 0 and make it 1000 or at least 300 something reasonable. I don't think i am the only person who has people they cant add back because their subscribed list is full. If you are with me please comment below. Maybe this thread can make a difference

I agree. It's pretty retarded, the list gets filled up really easily. We defiantly need more space.

I agree! I end up having to delete inactive friends to make room for someone else, and when they come back, the process repeats again. T_T'

Have to admit, my enemy list is far bigger than my friends lol. Every bratty little kid who swears or gives any kind of abuse to anyone in kolo gets added to enemies... and by god its a lot. Seems kolo attracts silly little children

It's hard as it is to get a match in kolo so when one does show up you have to accept your teammates, or visa versa enemies. Unlike pvm where you can choose who goes with you or what you face that is not the case with kolo. Kolo in general doesn't require as much skill, not saying that there are not skilled pvpers participating, just that anyone can register to face in kolo where as for example frigost you much meet a lvl requirement in order to get teleported to a dungeon or risk being aggressed as you run to the dungeon, also you must complete prerequisites of prior dungeons also. I think the friends list should be larger, then I wouldn't have to spread out friends among my alts. My enemies list is small because I am tolerable and have a good memory. Most of the people I simply ignore for the session, although it is really lame that I can ignore someone and still get spammed by them in general chat thus forcing me to add them to enemies. Some people are just plainly ignorant.

The limit used to be 150 or 200 back in the day if I'm remembering correctly. Then they changed things up. They had a specific reason for it, I just don't know what. I think it was part of their whole plan to stop bots and keep f2p players from enjoying themselves. As of now you are limited in general chat functions once you reason 200 messages for the day I think, but you can pm in guild and via friend list for the entire day. If you could add EVERYONE you wanted to chat with it would make this pointless. Also some bots would start to auto-friend list I'm guessing and just spam messages to people in that way, not really good when you can only add 100 names because that many people can go to a zaap within a couple minutes easily at times. Then you would have to delete them etc, just more annoyance than anything ;p

well yeh.. as far as I know it doesn't really matter howmuch friends you have, a friendlist is just made so you can see if your friends are online or not..
9000friends.. I think that are more people than on most servers...? xD

Maybe an another limit will be set? 1 friend a day, in favour of PvPers. I'm just suggesting something... Now that I think of it, 100 friends more is very OP indeed...

lol u need to think about pvm too, cause someone with 1000,s of friends has SO MUCH to choose from, pvm only have 7 friends tops, it will be the most overpowered update in HISTOREH.

felt like being a bit serious on the side, i actually think an limit for friends is ridiciouluss, but as we know ankama gets an hard on from limits.

Obviously because some kBits of data requires tons of storage. rolleyes

Seems to me people actually like less limits, take notes Ankama, for more choices. Such as higher amount of friends will grant you the ability to have... well.. more friends. More friends = more socialising = MAYBE bringing back some part of the old community where people did things together instead of their alts.

Just saying, it's not hard to do at all, you don't have to re-do the whole friendship system, just change the limit from 100 to 200, or maybe 300.
