Magical Engineer Class

By Gunnerwolfang - FORMER SUBSCRIBER - February 08, 2010, 10:46:37
In the year 1142, a group of engineers started a rebellion. They cannot accept that even with their vast knowledge in the ways of magic and technology, their lack of a god makes them "slaves" of the 12 classes, fixing everything that they destroy, making life easier for the favored class. They won't stand for eternal servitude no more. The rebel engineers secretly constructed a giant robot "Eiffel" and steals 5 of the Real Dofus from their former masters (they didn't manage to steal the dofus under the care of the Eniripsa because being a nature/peace loving beings, Eniripsa do not employ the service of an engineer). Powered by the 5 Dofuses, the machine comes to life and ascended the ranks of the god. It immediately started to wage war against the 12 gods following its main program which is to free the engineers.

After one year of continous battle, the 12 gods are starting to weaken (strong and powerful as they are, they cannot outlast a machine that does not tire, doesn't sleep, feels no pain and powered by 5 Dofuses. One after another, three of the gods were defeated and imprisoned by Eiffel.

Knowing that eventually they will be defeated, the god Sram leaves the battle. He then stole Eiffel's blueprint from one of the rebel engineer's general.
Armed with the knowledge on Eiffel's weakness the remaining gods joined forces for one last ditch effort.

The final battle begins...

While the others fights to distract Eiffel, the goddess Eniripsa uses the 6th Dofus to cast a powerful Paralyzing Word to temporarilly stop Eiffels movement while The god Pandawa lifted Eiffels chest protector. This gives the god Iop the chance to deliver a blow strong enough to destroy the main powercore that houses the 5 Dofuses (Iop uses all his strength and slept for 1 month afterwards to regains strength).

Eiffel was finally defeated. The 12 gods gathered all the rebel engineers and sentenced them to banishment. The god Xelor opened a time portal that sends the rebels 500 years into the past to a time where technology is basic and magic is the most common way. They then divided the remains of Eiffel into 12 pieces and each of the gods kept a part as a memento of their near demise.

Still plotting a way to revive their fallen god and obtain freedom from servitude (their mission: to gather all 6 Dofuses to create the Ultimate Eiffel), the banished godless class erected a statue of their fallen god in Imp Village and a new class emerges....

Second Version of the Story:
The same story of rebellion but instead of happening in the future (Dofus year 1142), it happens in the past (Dofus year 142)
The difference is that the 12 pieces of the remains of Eiffel are hidden in the World of Twelve.
Another difference is that the present 12 gods are aware of the engineer rebellion in the past.

Eiffel's Wrench
The Magic Engineer's Class
The followers of Eiffel always carry a metal wrench that symbolizes their readiness to fix all that is broken and building hope even in times of chaos. They uses both engineering and magic for the betterment of the world and destroying their enemy.

Symbol: "A raised hand holding a wrench"

God Statue: Eiffel's Statue looks like a giant robot wearing a toga carrying a wrench raised to the sky on the right hand and a book (Engineering for Dummies) in its left hand. (Inspired by Eiffel Tower and Statue of Liberty, 2 of French engineering masterpiece)

Locale: Imp Village (p2p class coz the Eiffel Statue is in Imp Village)

Appearance: Wear a workcloths with an assortment of tools and gadget on belt//holster or inside multiple pockets.

The NPC who fix the Incarnam Zaap could be a good avatar,

or the NPC at astrub Inn

or the NPC who manage the IMP Carrier,

or since the class is based on imp village technology, an imp engineer can be a candidate.

Weapon: Hammer, *Tools and *Guns. (*I would also suggest the addition of these type of weapons)

Spells are based on machine's and contraptions

ATTACK SPELLS

Flamethrower
Level 1
INT Dmg

Basic attack spell

Claymore
STR Dmg
A cone shaped AoE attack spell. low-medium damage

Artillery
AGI Dmg
Cast a AoE shot into the air that will drop and hit at the start of the casters next turn. (If the enemy guess where it will hit, it can be avoided, opponents/allies will not see where the artillery will drop unlike glyphs/traps, it would be advisable to think of a way to warn your allies coz a marker would give away the trajectory)
Alternative: Acid Rain Seeder: The magic engineer lauunch an acid capsule into the clouds making them pour acid on a designated area.

Bomb
CHA Dmg
Place an acid bomb that will do massive damage (AoE) when timer runs out (Best use in combination with Trolley as it will explode upon impact). Not invisible unlike the Sram's traps and can be attacked (50% triggering it or dissarming it, affected by Chance).
Optional: Using the spell "Tinkering", the engineer have a chance to either shorten the timer, increase the dmg, defuse or detonate the bomb.
Alternative: Dynamite: for fire type damage

Sabotage
NEU Dmg, Anti-summon
Close range attack that will do massive damage after the targets end of turn. Cannot be use on players or non-summons.

SUPPORT SPELLS

Magical Energy
Charges Machine/Extends Buff
Since Machine runs out of energy after a few turn, the magical engineer have to charge them with magical energy or they will be rendered useless. If used on non-machine target, it will extend the duration of existing buff/debuff/state on the target.

Tinkering
Affected by CHA
Enables the engineer to ride/wear/merge with a contraption for a set number of turn, at the end of the tinker state the engineer will be expelled from the machine/device automatically. They will be expelled on random adjacent free square, if there is no free square then they will not be expelled until such time a free square will be available. Engineer can only ride 1 contraption at a time (Although wearing a Kwismas Tree helmet, Prism armor and Trolley boots all at the same time would probably look so cool). The spell is a psuedo-counterpart of the carry spell of a Pandawa.

Abandon
Enables the engineer to move out of the tinker/merged state or to escape from carried state of Pandawa. The engineer can choose the square that they will be able to jump off (Linear,LoS). The spell is a pseudo-counterpart of the throw spell of a Pandawa.

Note: the combination of a Contraption, Tinkering and Abandon can be use to escape from dodge lock.

Fix-it
STR Type Heal
Short range heal of summons.

Chameleon Gloves
Copy Buffs
The engineer will touch the target and he will copy the buffs or debuffs that is active on the target (does not copy states and it only works on some of the monsters buff/debuffs so have fun discovering which buff can be copied).

Lets VOLT-IN
Level 100
Summon Merge

The ultimate spell. The engineer cast an AoE glyph that will trigger instantly if a Robot Mace, Trolley, Kwismas Tree and Catapult is within the glyph area the 4 devices will form into one powerful entity. When cast on a Robot Mace, this will created a merge of all the required part into an AI controlled Armed-Golem. The Mega-Robot will have a robotic torso (Robot Mace), with smasher weapon on right arm (Catapult), wheeled lower body (Trolley) and coned head (Kwismas Tree), optional is a 5th part which is a spiked shield on left arm (Baricade). The engineer can then use the spell "Tinkering" to merge with the Armed-Golem to become a manually controlled Power-Golem. When cast on the engineer himself, if all parts are within the spells AoE range the engineer will merge with all the required part to instantly become a Powered-Golem and will have acess to both Regular and Special Attacks.

Mega-Robot Form
Will use tthe stats of the engineer with buffs on the stats depending on the level of the spell and the level of the individual parts
Golem: + VIT
Catapult: + Dmg
Trolley: + MP
Kwismas Tree: + Range
optional: Barricade: +Reflect/Resistance

If the engineer uses the spell "Abandon" he will lose these buffs and the golem AI will take control of this form + the buff from the other parts. The Armed-Golem will also be able to use regular attack only.

Regular Attacks (AI and Manual Controlled)
Tree Smash: headbutt the enemy. Close range. Med dmg. CHA Dmg
Catapult Shot: long range small dmg. uses Catapult as a slingshot. when no enemy is within reach, the AI will use this spell. INT Dmg

Special Attacks (Manually controlled by riding the Mega-robot)
Charging Takle: charge thru the enemy to deal medium damage in its path ending his turn on the target tile (Cannot end turn on an occupied tile). This spell's range depends on the MP of the Mega-Robot and can be use as an escape manuever. NEU Dmg
Power Spin: AoE small dmg. the mega-golem stretch his arms wide and spins around causing damage to adjacent tiles. AGI Dmg
Shield up: Increases Res and reflect dmg. Optional: Baricade
Super Smash: convert his catapult into a smasher mace and attack with all his might (200%) but automatically ends/pass the engineers turn. The engineer will also pass the next 2 turn (Last-ditch Deathblow because if the enemy survive, the engineer will be sitting duck) STR Dmg.

MACHINES
Considered as a summon, as such the number that can be set is affected by number of summonables.
When you ride a contraption it is removed as a summon thus you can summon additional machines.

Assemble Kwismas Tree
CHA Summon
Summon a Kwismas tree contraption. An immobile tree that has a linear snowball attacks (from Wakfu Guardian's Kwismas Dungeon). When worn using the spell "Tinkering" it will be like a helmet, the Engineer loses a bit of MP and loses fire resistance but gain plus in water stats/dmg and range.

Assemble Kwismas Gift Box
INT Summon
Summons a walking gift box (another spell from Wakfu Guardians Kwismas Dungeon) that explode (INT Dmg) when it touches an opponent. Unlike the Sadida's Sacrifice Doll, it needs to be prime by 1 turn before it can explode. Note: Too small to ride so the spell "Tinkering" cannot be used in this device. This summon is also too small to block LoS. Update: Same as the attack spell "Bomb", using the spell "Tinkering", the engineer have a chance to either shorten the timer, increase the dmg, defuse or detonate the bomb.

Assemble Robot Mace
STR Summon
Summons a mechanical Robot Mace (from Imp Village) that will fight for the engineer or using the Engineer's spell "Tinkering", can be ridden by the engineer. when ridden by engineer, it can be controlled by engineer and new spells will be available.
Normal action:
Mace Strike (Not usable when no more mace, an unridden Robot Mace with no more mace cannot attack anymore. much like a Sram's double)
Ridden Action:
Rocket Mace (Long Range, Linear Attack, can only be used 2 times since it only have 2 mace, Mazinger-Z happy)
Self-destruct (Damages all adjacent square and, when activated the golem will explode at the end of turn. The Engineer can use the spell "Abandon"and move away so that they wont receive damage when the golem explode.)

CONTRAPTIONS
Not counted as summons but unlike devices, they can only be equiped using the spell "Tinkering".

Trolley
MP Buff
Assemble a trolley contraption, , then when attacked it will be pushed in the opposite direction and act as a projectile, or can be loaded with a "contraption/machine/summons(of others)" which will enable the cargo to be push along with the trolley, when the trolley stop the contraption is set in that spot while the troley is destroyed. If a bomb is loaded it will explode on impact. Using the spell "Tinkering" the engineer steps in the trolley and gains movement on a linear movement path.

Prism
Range/Dmg Buff, LoS Canceller
Assemble an immobile prism (looks like the conquest prism) that amplifies all spell that is cast thru it (could be range amplification or damage amplifications). When the Engineer use "Tinkering", he wears the prism like an armor and he loses LoS blocking capability (all spell can be cast thru the engineer... great if you wanna lock an enemy so that your allies can attack thru you... you can still be attacked if targeted... Melee attack will not be affected).

Barricade
AGI Dmg
Assemble a spiked wall that blocks LoS, all adjacent unit gets damage at the start of their turn. Using the spell "Tinkering" the engineer gains +Vit and +Reflect but loses 1-2 mp

Catapult
INT Dmg
Assemble a huge immobile catapult that can be use by anyone adjacent to it (another concept taken from Wakfu Les Gardiens on Episode 14). Any player (ally or opponent) who gets near this contraption will gain access to a new command "Trigger". This contraption have limited ammunition or have a cooldown for re-arming. When ridden by engineer the engineer can choose to use the spell "Trigger" and catapult himself to the ballista's target range (wall smash damage to the engineer/target if the target tile is occupied ). Or his ally/enemy can use "Trigger" to choose where to send the engineer.

Bag of Model Plane Kit
AGI/INT Dmg
Assemble a backpack capable of launching mini-planes. Use the spell to assemble the contraption, use tinkering to equip it then, use the spell again to launch mini-planes. A bit complicated but maybe a low ap cost of casting this spell might make it more viable.

BUFF DEVICES
Unlike magic spell that is cast directly to a target, engineers drops item to the ground and whoever picks it up gains the buff.

Rollerskates
MP Buff
drops a non summon device that grants +mp to the player who steps/picks it up.

Telescope
Range Buff
drops a non summon device that grants +range to the player who steps/picks it up.

Glue Balloon / Oil Balloon
Lock Buff / Lock Debuff
Have you ever played with water balloon bomb? This is the same technology but the effect will be different.
Glue bomb will create a AoE glyph that will lock all in its area. It will add locking points (not Agility) to the area affected and can even add locking point to the characters situated in that area. A low Agi character might find themselves stuck to the ground they are standing on. This will be a bit terrifying when you are side by side with a meatshield, the two of you will be stuck til the spell wears off or until one of you dies.
Oil bomb will be the reverse of glue bomb wherein it lessens the locking points of the area affected plus it can enhance the effect of fire spells.

Evolve/Upgrade Spell
Skill Up/Tech Up Buff
This spell when used on a summon/machine add a new spell or technique to it.
When cast on a player, it will increase the spell level of that player for 1-2 turn.

Example:
When used on a Gobball enables that Gobball to used the spell "Gobball Rage"
When used on an automated Golem Machine (Robot Mace) enables that machine to use the ridden technique "Rocket Mace"
When used on an Osa with level 5 Gobbal summon spell, his spell will be upgraded to level 6 Gobbal summoning.

Energy Drink
Decreases Turn Cooldown
This spell will decrease the active spell cooldown of others.

Example:
When an Osa have summoned a Gobbal and he still have 2 turn spell cooldown before he can summon another gobbal, casting a level 1 Energy Drink on the osa will remove 1 turn cooldown so he can summon by next turn.

Elemental Patter
Raises elemental attributes
The Engineer assemble a patter that cast a glyph on all four side that raises one element. The 4 adjacent glyph tiles have different color corresponding to the four element. For example, walking on the green glyph adds Air bonus to the character. Each time a character steps on the glyph his bonus stack up for a maximum of 3 buffs (6mp) per turn (additional buffs in cases of teleportation spells).
The color are randomly placed on the 4 adjacent tile.

Elemental Slapper
Raises element resistance
The Engineer assemble a slapper that cast a glyph on all four side that raises one elemental resistance. The 4 adjacent glyph tiles have different color corresponding to the four element. For example, walking on the green glyph adds Air resistance to the character. Each time a character steps on the glyph his bonus stack up for a maximum of 3 buffs (6mp) per turn (additional buffs in cases of teleportation spells)
The color are randomly placed on the 4 adjacent tile.

DEBUFF TECH

Flash Grenade
Range Debuff
AoE spell that removes range

Goo Grenade
MP Debuff
AoE glyphs that makes every square affected cost 2mp to move. It does not remove mp, it turns an area difficult to traverse.

Disgusting Spray
Summon Debuff
This spell will decrease the victims summonable capability by coating them with a magical chemical that will make them repulsive to their own summons.
This could also have an effect on the summons already on the battle wherein they might attack their ally who have this debuff.

Very vague but definitely has interesting potential. I especially like the stationary turret type spells.

Thanks for the positive comment. The turrel contraption is actually an existing spell in Wakfu Les Gardiens. Thought it might be easier to incorporate existing spell to lessen the work if Ankama would actually make this into an actual class. ^_~

I added a few more spells and renamed some spells. Needs more modifications. maybe if I have more time, I could make the spell more technically accurate (CC, Cooldowns, LoS, Range, Dmg.... etc)

seems like a mixture of a lot of class. not bad. well balance spells. but too vague. put more detail. Im a RPG player and this is a typical engineer template. too normal when compared to the 12 classes in dofus. make it more dofusian style (Wacky). looks to be weak in pvp but great in pvm, gvg and gvm. Im keeping my eyes in this thread. might make one myself. "Blacksmith" maybe.

only the Golem can effectively attack like a summon. the Kwismas Tree is a linear attacker and immobile. So its pretty useless unless buffed. the Kwismas Gift Box is a bit more like an attention catcher only since it won't explode until 2nd turn. Change some item from contraptions to devices.

tnx for the comment

I agree. I will think for a way to make this engineer class be more wacky so that it will be just like the 12 regular class.

Since you have played Wakfu Guardians, you do know that the most likely 13th class is the Eliantrof.

But since Eliantrof would be set in the time of Wakfu (2000 years from Dofus), there might be a chance that that class would be unrealistic to exist in Dofus therefore I wouln't mind playing your class. If it will actually be a selectable class.

Never heard of Eliantrof, but I have a nice Eliatrope in WLG. Also, Wakfu is set 1,000 years after Dofus.

So the Trolley contraption is a BomberTofu? You do realise that all the special spells in WLG are highly situational? The BomberTofus can't be killed, because in that room you have no damage spells. However, once "primed", they will explode either on the next turn or when killed. (I've been killed a few times by bombs setting off other bombs...). It is an interesting idea to use it as a class spell, but not hugely practical.

The trolley is a basically a platform with 4 wheels on its 4 corners. It is used to move heavy object.
The Kwismas Gift Box is a summon of the enemy on room 1 of Kwismas Dungeon on Wakfu Guardians (Wakfu Les Gardiens in french).

I too have been killed by the kwismas gift box basically coz I focused on killing the summoner rather than the summoned box. Which is why this spell is interesting, with a priming delay, a player facing a gift box will have to decide, "Do you kill the box or kill the summoner?" If you kill the box, then you waste AP that can be use to damage the summoner, If you focus on the summoner you risk dying when the box explode and take huge damage. As an engineer, it will be practical to summon this spell for the purpose of blocking the movement of an opponent and/or wasting their AP in process of destroying it. This makes the spell different from a Sadida's Sacrificial Doll which is usually cast within enemy range so it usually explode in that turn.

How could you be killed by a Cadeau explosif? They only do one damage. However, killing them can do one damage to you also or give you AP, MP, or HP. However, it can give AP, MP or HP to the enemy too. I said I was killed by BoomBoomTofus. They seem to have a KO effect.

Cadeau explosif must be the gift box summon of the Kwismas Dungeon Minotoball boss. I was talking about the little box that was summoned by 2 of the dagger weilding enemy on room 1. And yes I was killed by those box when I tried the Kwismas Dungeon when I was level 1 with only 6HP. T_T

You do play WLG in French, yes? Cadeau explosif (explosive gift) is summoned by the Lutin du Grouinch (Grinch Elf) in the first room of L'Antre du Grouinch (The Grinch's Lair). The Grouinch himself summons Cadeau de nowel (Kwismas gift).
I helped a level 1 through L'Antre du Grouinch. I had to keep standing in front of them so they wouldn't get themself killed. I think there's a reason it came out at level 20. In WLG, everything is scaled to the level the character will be when then first do it.

Are you French? Can you tell me the english translation of the rune spells that can be crafted into the hats in Wakfu?
So far I got:

Berserker: Doubles the damage
????????? : One that gives +2 Range
Attraction: ?????????

And can the rune spell be stacked to be level 2-3?
Help please. happy

And I was wondering Why the Gift Ticket on Dungeon 21 didn't made it to my dofus 1.29?

It was really hard to ask around in WLG for info coz most player are french who didn't know english or like me who doesn't know french.

BTW: I'm level 23 in WLG.

Sorry for out of topic reply. I just really need some help on WLG. T_T

I understand your problem. I've ended up trying to learn French to play, but I started off with a translator program and typed as fast as I could. I'm level 23 also. I'll look you up sometime when I'm playing, and you can ask me any questions you want in game.
